I've owned my C5 for a year. I put the top down before I left the dealer and it's never been back up. The C6 is a couple of years old and the top had been down since purchase until I had to put the car in the shop after a minor accident in January. The C5 is manual and the C6 is power but it doesn't make much difference to me, except you can remain in the car with the power setup.

BTW, I owned my previous Boxster for over five years and the top was up only once for a week when I had to travel north for Christmas. When I sold the car the top looked brand new, so riding in the well for five years did no harm.
