Help from the Team - Navi/Heads up 1LT vs. 2LT
So I am purchasing a C7 but I am on the fence about mainly the HUD and additional upgrades in the 1LT vs 2LT. I wanted to ask those with more experience than myself about how key and valuable to driving is a HUD?
I have a 2008 2LT but no HUD, I replaced the speakers in the car so thats not an issue, dont need Navi. No HUD never bothered me. But again Ive never had a HUD.
I need to save on the cost but really want Z51 pack with larger rims, black rims, and larger calipers.
Thoughts? Cheers,

I love the HUD in my C5 and find myself using it pretty exclusively in normal driving.
I would expect that the C7 HUD is significantly improved.
Tough to say this early, though. If you don't miss it now then you could argue that you probably won't miss it on C7...

I have C6 with HUD and had a C5 with it also. Nothing beats it. Its great not looking down and also for shifting. I wouldn't order a car without it anymore....

Our C6 has the hud, love it. For the family truckster, we paid significantly more for an Acadia over the excellent deal we got on a Traverse (from the forum's very own Mike Furman) due to the HUD and a few other things. I'm honestly not sure why more cars don't have it, it really is a great feature. Particularly now that Radio info, nav directions, etc are all integrated.

I intend on buying a non HUD c7... Then again I plan on installing my own

HUD is a requirement for me...it's a shame I will have to pay the increased cost from 1LT -> 2LT just for it, but again it's used multiple times daily and I love it!

I turned my HUD off. Never use it and actually found it to be a distraction. Part of my problem is that I have bifocals and it just works better for me to turn it off. None of my other cars have it so I don't miss it.
That said, I'm glad I have it for the resale value!!

I only display the MPH on my C5 HUD. On the street, this feature alone is indispensible in keeping me ticket-free.
On the track, I look at my corner exit speeds to see how well I am maintaining speed through the corners.
To me, it is a no-brainer must have.

I had HUD on my '99 and liked it well enough. I do not have it on the '01 which replaced it and do not miss it, even a little bit. As to Navi, I find that extremely annoying. If absolutely necessary, I pull over and use the mapping system on my iPhone.
Every one is different, but I would not pay more than $100 to have HUD, and not a penny for Navi...

Believe HUD Standard OB&K LT1
While you do need to go to a 2LT or a 3LT to get the COLOR HUD, believe that the LT1 has a black-n-white HUD.

The preliminary option list does not indicate any HUD on the 1LT. But it is preliminary and not a true order guide. That said, I would be a little surprising if the all models had HUD, but different HUD units. Where did you hear it from?
