C7 vs jag f type

From what I have read the F-Type is having as bad or worse Paint problems as the C7, if your looking at them pay attention to where the body panels join, that is where the issues are.

Jaguar is making some very beautiful cars (inside and out) these days. And they are reliable like most cars today. Some people are still stuck in the last few decades I guess.

I agree on the beautiful part (I owned a 2008 XK convertible) I disagree on the reliable part. That same XK spent more time in the shop then in my garage. I used to go visit it twice weekly at the dealership's service department, rub the fenders, and talk to it in low soothing tones so it would not forget me....

These "Call Me Maybe Guys" are probably the C7 type? The Gals are probably F-Type. Yes it's definitely worth watching.

From Super Pilot Sports to P Zeroes?
I'm shocked that Corvette dropped the Michelins in favor of the Pirellis for the C7. My XKRS came with the P Zeros and I changed to Michelin Super Pilot Sports. The Pirellis grip better but let go big time. The Michelin Super Pilot Sports start to let go before the Pirellis do but they hang in there for a while letting you know what's going on. I've also read that the Pirellis grease up after limited track use and become dangerous.
Could this be a case of business over function?

I drove most of the new Jaguar models and most of the Porsche line a week later at driving events last month. Both had short autocross / track set up at both events. The only Jaguar model I liked was the F-Type V-8. The Jaguar F-Type V-8 with sport exhaust was fun. Love the super charger, lots of power, very easy to steer or rotate the car with the gas pedal. Steering and brake modulation was very nice. The sport exhaust was very nice and sounded great, lots of burbling! The 911S cab and Boxster S were more satisfying to drive by quite a bit more to me even though they were not as powerful. Actually the less expensive and less powerful Boxster S was more fun then both the 911 and F-Type on a tighter autocross course. The Porsche PDK was better then the Jaguar auto. The Jaguar auto was very good though, just not as good as the PDK. Actually I was very surprised at how good the Jaguar auto was. I have not driven a C7 yet so I can comment about how it drives. Paint was better on the Jaguar. Interior was nice also but not better then the C7 3LT by much. The Jaguars had a lot of gimicky but very cool 007 stuff like pop-up vents, pop-out door handles, etc. The F-Type is probably a good $20K-$25K more expensive as a loaded C7 3LT Vert so not sure if many will cross shop both? I think the F-Type is probably more competition with the 911 then C7? Personally I really love the C7 coupe styling more then the C7 Vert as of today. I actually like the rear fender vents, too bad the vert will not have them. I want to see a few more C7 Verts in person when they start to show up before deciding on a C7 coupe or vert. Performance wise it looks like the C7 will be at the front of the pack at almost any price point less then $140K.
Bottom line...great time to shop for really fun cars now. Lots to choose from and something for everyone at every budget.

Jaguar is already offering a $2,000 factory rebate of the F-Type.

The upcoming release of the new f type coupe should be awesome looking.
It's a very nice looking sexy sports car.
V8 to v8 its base to base price is almost double.
The running costs and reliability of the jaguar would still be a crap shoot.
It's a wonderful achievement yet there is no question the c7 z51 MRC kicks the crap out of the jaguar on a road course.
Great car...the corvette is just better ...
(Admittedly corvette enthusiast biased without question)
Both great choices.
Thumbs up to owners of each

I test drove an F-Type before buying my C7. Very sexy car, nice ride too. But the Stingray is a MUCH better value for the money. And the C7 is just as sexy too.

The insurance on my F Type is about the same as it is on my BMW 535, Lotus Elise, C6 and Avalanche.
In the past I have owned many Jaguars - including 3 1969 E Types, 3 Sedans including a XJ12, and now a F Type. Also I have owned several Corvettes - a '83, '84, and a 2006 C6. Insurance costs have always been about the same.
Comparing the F Type and the C7 makes about much sense as comparing a E Type to the Corvette of the same year - which I have owned both of (1969 model year).
They all are simply great cars but different and I loved each for it's own personality.
