Default Suede Options...Confusing

I am a bit confused about the suede options. There are only two as I see it about which to decide.

The "IWE" option in the order guide (with codes) reads (my emphasis added) "Sueded Microfiber-Wrapped Upper Interior Trim Package". In the earlier buyer's guide the following is added "(requires 3LT; includes sunvisors, rear header trim, quarter window, front header trim, headliner, A-pillar trim)". Cost is $995.

Notice the description doesn't mention suede on the doors, passenger dash front pad or console cover that we've seen in numerous photos such as the NRB/Brownstone convertible. That car does have a grey/black sueded covering on the visors and A-pillars from what I can see however.

There is a separate option "IL6" for sueded seating surfaces, "Sueded Microfiber Seat Inserts 3LT" for $395. This seems to only imply suede confined to the seating surfaces.

Does the $995 option actually include suede on the doors/console/dash even though they are not mentioned in the original buyer's guide?

Another question for you Veteran Vette Owner's...have you had headliner/A-pillar/front and rear header options in the past? Suede vs. what?

I may be of not a lot of help, but I think I understand the $395 Suede Seat Inserts option.

(RPO-IL4) Includes the 1LT and 2LT 'Standard' leather GT seats

(RPO-IL6) Includes the 3LT 'Napa' leather GT seats

Replaces the leather center sections of both the seat bottom and seat back with color matched suede (not available in other colors that differ from the original seat color on the car)

I understand that. It is the suede covering I am asking about.

Ponder? Does 3LT Brownstone automatically give you suede on the dash/doors/console and 3LT Kalahari standard smooth leather? After all, I haven't seen Kalahari with suede...only Brownstone.

Hmmm...

Default Have Same Question Please

As per Rad22's post immediately above, does choosing the 3LT Brownstone automatically make part of your dash and doors suede? Or, can you, as shown on the Kalahairi 3LT interior in the Cyber Grey coupe, have all Brownstone surfaces be solid leather (no suede)?

I asked my dealer, and he got the following information from GM:

Brownstone Interior is only available with the 3LT package and UNLIKE any other color, it includes suede on the doors, dash and console.

(IWE) Custom Suede-Wrapped Upper Interior Trim Package (requires 3LT; includes sunvisors, rear header trim, quarter window, front header trim, headliner, A-pillar trim).

This is optional with all colors.

I'm still wondering what the 3LT black interior will look like. I was thinking it might be like the brownstone interior with suede on the dash and doors in order to provide some contrast with material textures since the color will be monotone.

Maintaining suede on a vehicle that will do many cross country trips...., not for me. Bye, bye Brownstone. Hello Kalahairi.

Can I get a forum dealer to confirm this; e.g. Brownstone ONLY comes with the suede as listed above?
Thanks.

Thank you. That posses a problem. I may have to rethink Brownstone, and don't think I'll like a Kalahari wrap on the whole dash via 3LT. Could I be back to jet black??

I hate it when it's this hard.

Seeing the pictures of the 3LT Kalahari interior is what made me want the contrast of the suede. I'm glad the Brownstone comes with it because I think it looks better. I also think the black 3LT should include the suede, otherwise it's too much of the same.

Actually, I think there should be another option - add suede or not for all the colors. Why limit schemes to certain colors?

CM: I do agree with you. The Brownstone/Suede certainly makes it look distinctive, and I'm thinking the jet black could be a bit boring. You may have just helped me with a tough decision. Thanks.

Just PM any forum dealer. They will be glad to help.

I would try Tommy Jr. at MacMulkin.
