That is kind of upsetting. Obviously not a deal breaker but you would think they would make a version of the Vette to accommodate. Such as a higher performance model.

Well, he was talking only about the LT1. Not any of the other engines like LT4 or L88 that might be coming in those future HI-PO versions.
Not a big endorsement for E85 but the added power and tq on the truck engines with E85 would have had corvette owners salivating at the thought of an extra 30 hp and lb/ft of torque just by filling up with E85..
I know had the fuel lines etc been E85 compatible ...I'd be searching out E85 stations for the added performance and I could care less about lowered mpg...
30 extra ponies could offer as much as .3 ths. And 3 mph in the quarter...just from the fuel swap...he'll 2 grand in aftermarket headers doesn't always deliver what switching the fuel to E85....and don't get us started on what aftermarket forcred induction junkies would be doing with E85 fuel
Still without the E85 full tilt kit from the factory in the corvette LT1 I wouldn't run E85 at this time...I'm sure from Mr Lees expressions we are going to be quite pleased with the final performance numbers of the LT1 corvette.
I remember a few people being very strident and insistent about E85. Certain claims being made, buying into some claims made by an "official" insider.
Anyone going to own up publicly to being duped?
Well that would be me and the intention of my thread was fulfilled
As far as being duped goes each year there are going to be more cars produced that can change tunes on-the-fly allowing them to take advantage of the additional horsepower E85 fuel can support.
When it comes to the Corvette is only a matter of time and not "if'.
let me say it better.... im not trying to force e85 on Everyone... just wish the ones that wanted it could use it.... like Ford Boss has the Red track key. that key pushes the limits of the motors harder but also cust the warrenty in half..... i would do this is GM offered it. have a 2.5yr/50K mile warrenty. and make dam near 500/500 with e85.
Good - I'm glad... Once mine is tuned on it I will have something unique on my hands again just like I do with the LS3... It's funny how he said how easy it would be to get the LT1 on E85...
Believe you me, the only reason they didn't is because it would be faster than a Z06... made me pretty upset how he made it such a selling factor in the video that the truck gains 30hp, and 50tq... but when it comes to the corvette, it was almost a laughing matter. BS

Supposedly it's not just the tune but rather some plastic parts that need to be changed for long term viability...
I watched the whole video and i didn't hear anything that suggested that. The cars at set up to run on E10, so E85 will run perfectly fine through the fuel system. It's just a simple tune just like my LS3 vet. Don't start spreading rumors unless you can back them up. Thanks

I wasn't speaking a rumor but rather a personal decision to not just retune a vehicle without proper equipment. I would need confirmation from GM that the fueling system is compatible to E85 from GM before I personally ran E85. I am more conservative than you with regard to fuel system failure du to use of the wrong fuel.
Good luck to you and your vehicle. I am sure you ll be pleased with your car as modified. I'll personally not follow suit as my Interpetation includes equipment not specifically included on the corvette but was included in their truck lineup. ( until I hear otherwise from GM)
Thanks for your opinion.

with out proper equipment???? if it will run e10 it will run e85.... e85 isnt corrosive. it is a cleaner. if anything it will help you motor last longer. wont gum up valves or anyhting... i LOVE working on e85 cars. my hands stay clean.. lolol.

Couldn't agree more. I have been running for over 18 months on E85 on my stock C6 with headers. I have had ZERO issues, and the car has been running like a raped ape (logged over 20 1/4 passes, and 20,000 miles). Corvettes are built with truck parts that support flex fuel. Again, I'm glad GM didn't let the C7 have flex capabilities... more fun for me
Why would you voluntarily put that crap in your engine when you could run 10% EtOH at 93 Octane all day? Higher Ethanol content = worse mileage and more corrosion.

it's not crap..... Jesus.... and it's a MOTOR not a engine....
