I have a feeling the dealers will be hanging on to those brochures like they are gold. They don't want anyone who's not somewhat serious having one ... at least that's how the dealers around here have been in the past.
Here is a chance for GM to remake the buying experience for this app - forget about dealers who will "horde" these brochures, making people beg for them - release the brochure for this car as an iPad/Android app.

Same here. They'll make you think it was the rarest book on earth.
I want a physical one as well My dealer says they have not shipped them yet... Once they arrive I get one that day. I would think at this point should be any day unless their waiting for the official SAE numbers to publish.
A brochure would be nice. When I was shopping for a C6, the dealers looked at me like I was asking for the Necronomicon.
I fail to understand why dealers wouldn't want to put brochures in the hands of everybody walking in the store. Isn't that how you get future buyers hyped? I know it is a digital age where nothing is tangible anymore, but kids still put pictures on their walls.
Contrast this to Porsche, where (at least here in San Antonio) there is always lots of literature as soon as you walk in. I got a hardbound book just for looking at a Cayman R. Granted the Porsches are lots more expensive, but the experience felt more special.
The corvette is a special car too, I wish the dealers would act like it and respect one's interest in it. Maybe that's just the dealers in my neck of the woods.
The chevy dealers by me are always saying that they cost the dealer $50 each and they dont just give them out. Bunch of BS
I'd believe the dealers pay for them (because it's up to them to sell the cars and pay for their own marketing) but I HIGHLY doubt $50 by a long shot. I would bet they pay $50 for a big box of them, though. GM would make them in bulk and it would probably cost GM $0.50 to make each one at the quantity that they get them in. And they wouldn't sell them to the dealerships at a markup like that because GM WANTS them to sell these cars. Essentially it would be GM paying for their own marketing as well.
I think the dealerships are just trying to put the Corvette on a higher pedestal.
But Haveblue has a good point. If you walk into a high-end exotic dealership, or even a Mercedes or BMW dealership, they always have brochures on their highest end cars ready for you. Seems that GM dealerships are a little counter-intuitive with the brochures. Perhaps they don't know what they're actually for. LOL

Here at the local dealership, one must talk directly to the sales manager to get a Corvette brochure, with the explanation being that they don't have very many, so they try to give them to actual potential buyers.
I'm thinking that the brochure for the Stingray is going to be impressive.
