Mode selector questions and comments
Will the car restart in the same mode it was turned off in ?
I would hope it does but they refer to Tour as being the default mode.
It looks like the track mode sets AH and TC to comp mode.
I would guess if you turn active handling off in track mode and restart the car it will go to track mode with AH and TC set back to its default off comp mode.
Any thoughts ??

Tour is the default mode that the car will ship from the factory in.
The driver mode is tied to the vehicle memory and will restart where you left it including IP configuration, pocket gauges and subordinate gauges. Those will only change if you change them or if you shift the IP to "Link to Driver Mode" in which case they will change to a predetermined set of gauges displayed for each Driver Mode Selection.
The settings for sport and track will default to their normal settings (ie, track mode with AH disabled.). AH is available and can be turned back on but switching out of Tr (Track mode) and switching back in to Track Mode will return to it's default).

Paul,
I think (!) I read that AFM will engage only in "Eco" mode, is this correct?

If "AH disabled" is the default setting in comp mode prepare yourself for some carnage at the track and on the street!
You heard it here first.

On the Z51 the eLSD will go a long way toward preventing that carnage. It is an amazing system. As will the PTM system.

"Eco" mode? I have driven various rental cars in the last year that have this setting. From experience with these cars, Eco turns a decent car into a dog. The engine hesitates and lacks response (yesteryear you would do a carburetor overhaul with these symptoms), now this dismal performance is programmed into the computor in the guise of economy. They should name this setting on the mode selector "DOG". I could be wrong, I don't think so.

Edif is a game changer. Fingers crossed it will last with heavy track use or bigger aftermarket coolers ASAP.

Am I missing something here? Comp is really nothing more than a relaxed AH mode. You get to have a little wheelspin, can maintain a little tailout if it isn't too lurid. Its not like the nannies have been kicked to the curb or am I misunderstanding?

I don't think the mode selector turns off the nannies at all. In the C6s, you hold the button down to turn them off. Perhaps in the C7, you hold that middle button down to turn off the nannies.

I believe I said comp mode when I meant to say track mode.
Talon90 has stated that AH is OFF . in track mode. Not reduced like in comp mode but OFF. We shall see soon enough.

You said "The settings for sport and track will default to their normal settings (ie, comp mode with AH disabled.)." which implies that AH is still on but in its comp values, the nannies are still present. In other words by any name this is a relaxed version of active handling just as comp mode is such in the C6 where the nannies are still ready to kick in but at higher values. Or did you mean to say that in sport and track all nannies are turned off, no nannies at all, same as holding the button till you get the off in our C6s?

The settings as called from the mode selector switch are considerably different than comp mode on the C6. Track mode in the Z51 uses the eLSD and PTM. This is NOT comp mode from the C6. I'm not sure hoe much more plainly I can state this.
