Default My Order

I am number 9 of 41 at my dealership. I find the whole allocation/production process confusing. So far I have little feedback from my dealership. Do any of you have enough understannding of all of this to give me an idea of when I might get my car? I remember how frustrating it was waiting for my C6. Because of the wheel shortage people were buying cars similar to mine off the lot and I just kept waiting. Finally got mine at the end of October. Thanks.

Who knows? I think most orders accepted by GM this past week will be fulfilled by December at the latest.

The orders from Kerbeck will probably be fulfilled a little quicker since they have the largest allocation (507). Regardless of your #, I would think an order from Kerbeck will get priority. That's why I ordered from them.

These "initial allocations" that dealers have gotten are for the first "6-9 months" of production. While production will not be linear due to startup, you can use basic ratios to get an idea when your car might be built. So, for 9 out of 41 would put you somewhere from the second to the third month (late August to late September).

44 of 507 would be somewhere in the first month of production (basically July).

However, as I stated earlier, production will not be at full speed initially, so I would add a month to these estimates (and they are just estimates).

Thanks all. I hope soon. My C6 has a headlight issue (no low beams), and they can't figure out why. I know NTSB is looking into a recall on it but that will take forever. My car is on their list of problem cars. My warranty ran out last year and I have had two really expensive repairs since. I really don't want to throw any more money in this car.

Default I'm also confused

I "ordered" my 3LT from a large dealer and was told i'm 9 of 80. They cannot provide me with an order number yet so that i can track on the GM website. I'm not sure why? I'd like to see an invoice that shows all the options I selected.

Do the dealers have to wait to submit the order until they get their next allotment? It would be great if someone could show a screen shot of the tracking website with an actual order. I'd like to know if the website provides any details on the order. I'd hate to find out my dealer screwed-up my order.

If your dealer actually put in a order for you, he should be able to give you the 6 charactor information. They have been able to input orders since early May or before, however, these order just sit at status code 1100, if you put the order number in the tracking system it will show Order Placed. If the dealer was given 1 or more units during the last concensus and your order was picked up, the tracking system would in most cases show Queued for Production.

There will be no invoice till the order is produced, then the dealer receives it from GM, however, who ever entered your order in the GM Workbench system could have printed out your order, which shows order number and all info on the order such as exterior color, interior color and all options.

So my advice to you is ask who inputs to the GM Workbench system and have them print out your order. Orders are picked up when your dealer gets units allotted them during concensus, the next consensus that Corvettes will be available to dealers is July, after that it should be twice a month, then it's what the dealer was allotted for the overall period of 6 to 9 months, so their could be some consensus periods they will not get a unit, it all depends on GMs projected production over the given period of that consensus cycle.

Hope that helps.

Hmm, i face the same situation... placed my order and paid my deposit last week with Kerbeck but never got an order number.

are there any circumstances under which a dealer would accept your order and deposit but not enter it into the GM Workbench system?

For orders that were placed with the dealer after May 24th or so, there is really no need to get the order into GM's system quickly, as no additional orders will be "picked up" until early July (the next consensus for the C7). Date of order entry into the system makes no difference on when your car will be built. When the dealer gets the next round of allocations, the dealer decides what the priority of their orders are. That priority will determine which orders get picked up in the next consensus (assuming you are not ordering anything on constraint or with late availability.

As for the Chevy online order tracking site, it does NOT give detailed order information/ As soon as your dealer inputs your order, your dealer can provide you with screenshots of the detailed order in the system. Mine dealer e-mailed them to me.

I will get mine just in time to put it away for winter. I may just drive it to Florida so I can use it. Bottom line the cars will get here and by this time next year we will be discussing what we have found out by driving them. I can wait. My number is less then 20 with the third largest dealer in the world...I am expecting early to mid October.
