Default Are Suede inserts durable.

Are the Suede inserts as durable as the stock leather seats?
I assume they are more comfortable... but do they last?

I asked about this on the C6 forum.

Also see this thread.

The inserts are "micro-suede."

I had the same concern. How crappy would it look if it got dirty, especially the center console and door arm rests?

But from what I learned, it is remarkably stain-resistant. Iplan on treating my Brownstone 3LT iinterior with 303 fabric guard right away, though.

In general, suede is not as durable as regular leather. Don't see it being any different for the c7, but I still love it!

But this is not natural suede, it is a man-made micro fiber. Some trade names for this fabric are Alcantara and Ultrasuede.

I have an alcantara d shaped steering wheel for 2 years and 24k miles....looks new. I'd recommend alcantara or ultra suede in a heartbeat. Awesome feel and would be excellent as a seat material

Order with confidence.

So now cloth seats cost MORE than leather?

Sounds like you're running off the assumption that corvette seats are durable

Hopefully, the new ones break that stigma. The seats(most interior really) is where the c4 shined. Leather quality hit rock bottom in the c5, and was a bit better in the c6.

Also, I'd vote alacantara if that's what it really is. These bad boys were always nice to sit in and I don't think you'll ever find anyone that says otherwise(never owned one though)

Being old my brain says "crushed velvet" when I see this and I'm trying to get past that mental image because it would seem likely to offer better traction.

I don't know but I have seen some that end up showing sweat or oil and show a difference in the sheen of the finish over time. I know I would never get it because of that. Who knows, maybe this stuff is better but I doubt it.

when asked about the suede option I chose no because of the durability question, but now after reading more about it I kinda wish I had gone for it....it sure looks awesome with the Brownstone.

We have the ultra suede in our Bonneville GXP... a light to medium gray. It was the one thing that concerned me when we the bought the car. Well, eight years and 90.000 miles later... with dogs in the car... the seats look great. I'm amazed how easy they are to keep clean and they show no wear.
