Default Confused....

I placed my order with my dealer on 5/4. He told me I was number 9 of his 41 allocations. When I ordered he said I would just have an order in his system and not with GM because they were not taking orders yet. I have sent him 3 texts in the last few weeks without a response. I'm just asking if I have an order number yet. I put down a $5000 deposit that is refundable until the order goes in. I am not happy with the lack of response but am I asking this too soon being number 9? Once I have an order number I don't need to talk to him until the car comes and will be happy not to need to talk to him. I can't stand car salesmen. Thoughts?

Nice to know I'm not the only one in almost this exact boat. I'm #8/42 with my dealer, and mine was a $5k down too (not to worried about that though).

I went in and talked to the GM of the shop today and he was pretty friggin clueless (totally not impressed with that), but he did say that they were able to put the first two through. There's rumour that the next batch will open up on the 26th, but he couldn't tell me how many slots would open. I'll be hearing back from the "ordering manager" (or whatever his title was) on Monday with more info.

I'd go somewhere else. Not responding to your questions is reason enough, but not putting the order into the workbench is baloney. And the $5000 deposit is way too much. (5X more than I put down.)

I would ask Mike Furman how it works. I think of an allotment is say 40 that is for the first six months. I am 19 out of 150 and my order has not been entered. Is fine with me. I should be on the next allotment for actual orders sent to Crisswell Chevrolet. Figure you are let us say 7 out of 40. Even of the numbers were spread evenly you wouldn't be in the first allotment. I would suspect your order would be entered in August. 9 of 41 is even less likely.

But like I said check with he answer guy. He knows.

There is absolutely no reason for your dealer to have not input the order into GM OrderWORKBENCH. At that point you would have an order number. $5K deposit is way too much. My deposit was $1K, I'm #24 (of approx. 75 - I forget the exact number )on the list and I have an order number.

I am not too impressed with the lack of communication. If it were me? I'd get my $5000 dollars back and order with a forum vendor...
