Ok with my C7 sitting at 3300 I'm thing more and more about what to expect to get for my C6. Supposedly Texas Direct makes ggreat deals. For grins I filled out their online form. 2006 3LT Auto Dual Roofs Chrome Wheels Base not Z51 71k miles. I do have a small not repairable crack in the windshield. They told me 17-20K. I was thinking more like 22K. Thoughts?
I basically had the same car as yours, but with the body colored roof. car had 10k miles and I sold it to dealer outright in February for 29.5k. Either your getting low balled or the C6 prices are falling off the cliff due to arrival of the C7.

I agree. Right now the values are about their lowest. You'd probably get more a year or two from now.

Did I read this right that your car had 10K miles and OP has 71K? I am not surprised at a 7-10K difference in price if I read this correctly 60k miles is 5 years of extra wear on the vehicle.
KBB for DFW area says trade value in very good condition is $24,620 with 71K miles. With 10K miles it is $32,670. Mileage makes a big difference.
The major problem is dealers will rate most Trade-ins at Good or Fair condition then go from 5 to 10% below book (Usually auction price), I looked at the same car in Edmunds (Rated fair because of Windshield) and it was $17K ~ $20K.
Best bet if you can swing it is sell private party then do a in&out through the dealer you are getting the new car through. That way you get about what you want for the car and save on the tax portion of the trade in. Some dealers in Texas will do a in&out for a small ($200) admin fee. Of course this only works if you are getting the new car locally and not out of state.
Not sure about Texas, but here in Iowa, you have to make sure the difference is great enough to cover the sales tax amount on the trade....for a $20,000 trade in value, here in Iowa that's $1,200.00.
I sold my XLR-V there (also purchased it from them) and had a quick, easy experience. I probably could've made an extra 2-3k selling it myself, but I was ready to get rid of it and get into a new car.
I agree there is a big drop from the car with 10k miles, but does anyone else think a fair rating just because of the windshield is ok.? Thought I would try CarMax, Texas Direct, and my dealer. I really don't want to sell it myself.

If you trade it in you will always lose. The dealer will make money on the trade and the new car at the same time.
