Per the Corvette engineers at Bloomington they are only going to run one shift and are making about 20 cars per day BUT this is just practice. These are not real customer cars.
He did not set a date for REAL production but taked like August if all goes well. It takes 4 days to produce a car
20 Cars is less than 2 hours of production time when actual production gets going. But according to another thread CTF production is complete prior to GB vacation. So I assume the factory is just getting their ducks in a row prior to starting actual production late Jul/early Aug.
So do we not have someone on here that can verify that if the plant personal are back from vacation.
I can't verify in person; but I'm pretty sure the factory is down the first TWO weeks of July. So they would start back up next week. Hope I'm wrong, the wait is maddening! I'm to the point I wished they hadn't shown th car in January; way to much waiting time.....

They are shooting for around 21 to 22 cars per hour when they get "up to speed".
So in essence there is no actual information on if they are still on vacation or not just assumptions.
I would assume if there was someone near Bowling Green they could determine from the cars in the factorys employee parking lot if vacation was taking place or not. Too bad there are no live internet cameras there. Oh well the wait goes on
Dave Tatman the plant manager along with two 2014 Corvette Stingrays will be at Arthritis Classic Auto Show and Cruise in this weekend in Columbus, Ohio. I will ask him and report back on if the plant is open. I'm sure he's not going to say when production will start.

I found some internal GM Vette orders that have a TPW of 7/8, so the plan is to build something this week.
So something is suppose to be made just not production models. Maybe more CTF vehicles. We will know when the news shows a pic of Rick Hendrick standing on the line getting #1. That's how we knew the Camaros were being produced. My prediction 07/22 they start up
The BG Plant should not be on vacation as the regular workers were given time off during the changeover from the C6 to C7. The above article was written a few months back but it was widely reported throughout KY that the plant workers would not be on vacation once they got ready for C7 production. You can be guaranteed that GM wants these cars out the door worse than those who post here.
Yea but the UAW im sure had something to say about them working last week. The plant is always shut down and that was probably what was argued. Lets just hope they come back eager to get these cars out the door at the rumored 18 units a hour. That's 144 a day, 720 a week. The workers are paid a good portion of there salary while on shut down so not like the bank accounts are broke. Ive been to Bowling green plant 3 times and they are great people hard workers. Im just anti Union that's all.
They hope to produce something ~ 30,000 cars per year. That should be ~ 100 cars per day.
More like 180-200 per production day, since BG runs one 10-hour shift Mon-Thurs, and there are periodic shutdowns for whatever reasons. At least that's how they did it for the C6, and it should work for the C7 unless they sell way more or way fewer cars than they expect.
