Did anyone else notice the LT1 crank has a keyway in the snout?
Was browsing thru the topgear article and images:

And saw that the new crank actually has a keyway on it now So glad they added this feature. The LS cranks sucked in this area for those of us who added forced induction.

Seems like this engine was meant for FI from the jump. Won't doubt the next version in the family being FI.

The LS7 has 11:1 CR without the cooling benefits of DI or the piston oil squirters, and an E-Force at 5.5 psi boost has 657 horsepower.

Why change the pistons? With DI, and piston oil squirters and running a lower boost, 11.5:1 CR is okay, as long as it isn't tuned on the ragged edge(which GM isn't going to do).
