I'm currently on the fence about ordering the 1LT or 2LT in regards to the stereo. Has anyone heard the audio difference between the 9 speaker set up and the ten speaker "premium" set up with the base box? A nice stereo is important when it's time to put on the cruise control and settle in for a long ride. The base audio in my C6 was pretty crude and hoping the new audio system is much better. Thanks
I've been wondering the same thing. I'm sure we will hear/read much on this topic once the C7 is out and in the hands of forum members. The sound quality or should I say the lack of was my only complaint besides the NAV in the C6.
No question If you get the upgraded unit, you will be pleased and the difference, especially between C6 unit and the new unit is large
^ So you an opportunity to do some listening to both the better Bose system and the base Bose system in the C7's? Was it sufficient listening time in both to comment on some of the differences?
I'm hoping its close to the 5-channel harman-kardon Logic 7 system in my wife's Mercedes E350. That one is the best I've ever heard in a car - close to my Meridian-BAT-Oppo-Vandersteen system in my Home Theater.

OMG - your hope is WAY over the top. It's still a Bose car audio system. They are really just adequate at best compared to the HK in your wife's car and totally outclassed compared to your home system.
You would cringe if someone showed you the size and quality of the actual Bose speakers used in the Corvette. Radio Shack quality is superior.

I was afraid of that. The Infiniti system (also HK) in my Hyundai Sante Fe is pretty good also....not like the MB, but not bad. The last Bose system we had was in a Nissan Maxima and it was not so hot.
I like their noise-cancelling headphones though - great at 35000 ft. !!

^ Their noise cancelling headphones and table top radios are pretty good. In the event you were unaware, their noise cancelling technology is also used extensively in the new C7.

You are basing your assumption on the past Bose systems in corvettes and you are right they were TOTAL junk. NO TRUE of this system. Yes I have listened to both the new base system and "premium" system. BOTH are better than the JUNK in the C6. The premium system sounds significantly louder and a little cleaner and def more bass. I own a Mercedes 350 slk conv with h/k 7.1 system and amazingly IN MY OPINION the new premium system is very comparable and I have NEVER been able to say that in the past. By the way, I got to listen to the systems at Bloomington gold when the drivers allowed me to listen to a 1lt and 3lt when they were getting ready to leave You will be very pleasantly surprised at the new system. The premium system is worth the extra $$$ in my opinion
There is a considerable difference between the last generation sound system and the 9 speaker base system in the Stingray. There is again a substantial difference between the 9 speaker and the 10 speaker system. It is worth considering when looking at the choice between 1LT and 2LT.

Thanks for the feedback. I also have a 2011 Benz with h/k 7.1 system and am not overly thrilled with the bass response and overall clarity...feel its "slightly better than average". Looking forward to hearing the upgraded C7 Bose system. I am indeed confident it will be better than the standard system and worth the money (IMHO). Thanks again for your first hand thoughts.
I genuinely hope all the positives about the C7 Bose system will be shared by owners as we move forward. Until now, I have never heard any Bose system that could begin to rival the audio set up's others are comparing them to. I will be delighted to pleasantly surprised - but not yet ready to be optimistic . . . .
