Did anyone order the dash plaque with your own customization and if so, what did you put on it? I understand the car has a dash plaque no matter what, just not personalized. Just curious.
Not me. I can get a very nice plaque made by www.USBrassShop.com that will say anything I want for a lot less money. I'm thinking "Binger's Magic Carpet - Hang on for Dear Life !"
I ordered the plaque with mine because I liked the looks of the dark background on the custom plaques against the black dash better than the brighter standard plaque. As for what I put on it, just my name (although I was told that you can probably put whatever you want "as long as its clean" - which of course got my wheels turning for several hours trying to think of some way to sneak something dirty through).
I was sent an example of the plate. It says
BUILT IN BOWLING GREEN,KENTUCKY USA FOR
-----------NAME-------------
VIN # -----------
It has the Corvette logo on the left side
Shane from the museum emailed me today to confirm the wording on my plaque. You can have 24 characters including spaces. You can choose your capitalization options (all caps, etc) and apparently the word "for" in the first line has been eliminated.
FYI - I do not have museum delivery but it seems that the museum is handling all the plaque orders.
See - I'm in a quandary. The dealer didn't have any pictures so I didn't know exactly what I was choosing. Now after seeing the 'regular' plaque, I prefer it over the museum one as well. AND, I'm not sure its a little over the top putting my name on it. Does that scream self indulgence (although it really is?)?
I actually asked Shane if I could just get the plaque and put it elsewhere. NOPE, its put on during assembly. SO, I guess I have to go with the museum plaque (I am doing museum delivery) and am thinking of just putting 'Corvette Stingray' or 'Lisa's Stingray' on it.

Lisa, you put whatever you want (within reason, LOL). Are you naming this car? Put it there.

Shane called me today as well and after talking to him I decided to go with just my name. I was considering my nickname for the car. But if I ever exchange her for a newer model I'd like to keep the plaque. Perfect for when I loose my memory...I am "an old fart" after all!
