Hello everyone,
A heartfelt thanks to each and every one for sharing your knowledge with me - your information has proved invaluable. Alarms certainly did go off in my head when i heard the terms of his deal but i need to be sure as i have not been down this road before. I have already reached out to three of the dealers recommended here and I will post back when i have my order in place. The upside is I received a heck of an education, made some new acquaintances and will have an order in place soon. How cool is that? Gotta love the web....

There is a pretty good Corvette community. 
Sometimes we argue like children, and there are a couple of jerks, but overall I think you'll enjoy your Corvette and the people driving them.

Welcome to the forum. As i live in SoCal also, let me point out a few things in our neck of the woods. Before I ordered my C7 from a forum dealer, I checked out every SoCal dealer in a 75 mile radius of LA. I just bought a C6 '13 in Feb. from my local dealer in Valencia. When I picked it up, I asked them what will they be selling the C7's for? There answer was $7500-10k OVER MSRP. The dealer owner "Mike" said that's been that way every new introduction since C3's and they aren't changing making money for a hot car.
You will find out very quickly that all of the dealers in the LA/San Diego are not selling them for just MSRP. Give Mike Furman a call at Criswell Chevy in MD. He will hook you up. Here's his number 301-212-4420. Good luck...
