That's because the older folks from that time weren't whiners. They fought in WWII and Korea. Unlike today..the Whiners of today were teens in the 70s and 80s. What do you expect...like Cotton Hill said...."at least we won our war!"
1. We won the Korean war?
2. Don't blame an entire generation on the decisions the leaders of the previous generations politicians made. America had the might to win all of those wars but lacked the will.
3. It seems to me to me you are whining. Maybe you have a difficult time accepting others have different opinions than you're own?
While I realize dealers aren't always honest, they could well be repeating what they were told by the GM rep. My dealer, who as been up front with me for over 15 years on every new Corvette I've ordered, called me last week after the GM rep left the dealership to let me know production was starting next week. So I don't think even the reps know what's going on, and that is very sad that management can't even tell them the facts.
I don't believe it's a matter of management not telling anyone what is happening. They are working out some productions glitches. So until they are done tweaking, nothing will start. This is normal for first run cars.
There isn't any purposeful neglect of information. Just getting the line up to proper quality. Remember, we are still in the original production window that was estimated in the original launch back in January.
Keep calm! Anticipation is very sweet.
How F'n stupid is it that folks are still b!tch!ng about some stupid GD tail lights!!?? You don't like em...don't buy the damn thing FFS..... BUT PLEASE QUIT CRYING ABOUT THEM...FWIW I think they totally modernize the car. Oval, Round, Rectangle WGAF
Here it is. I found it! The inspiration for the C7 taillights!!!!!!
Wow! Does this bring back memories! I ordered a new Vette in the Spring of '74, but later got nervous about the high gas prices, so I also ordered a '74 Vega GT. My salesman told me I could have which ever car arrived first! Of course the Vega came in first, but I told my salesman to call me anyway when the Vette arrived. He called a few weeks later and I went down to see it. It was awesome, and I was "sick"! The Medium Blue exterior was gorgeous, the silver interior was sumptuous, the 4 speed was rock solid, and the L82 hi-po motor sounded Sweet! The Vega GT was a fun little car, got good mileage, and never gave me any problems. But I always regretted not buying the Vette instead.

First, that quote was from "King of the Hill"...a joke...get over yourself. Stop being so serious and whiney... what was I whining about? I was just making an observation. It's the ones bitching and moaning about taillights, cargo carpets, black vents, black wheels, chrome wheels, and 60 lbs are ones I consider whiners. Sure they are entitled to their opinions.... And I'm entitled to my opinion that they are crybabies in adult bodies. Nice try though...
It's strange at this point..that its still a topic of discussion
Why strange? You think people are just going to change there minds about something they think looks hideous on the back of a Corvette?? The fact that the topic still lives gives it long legs. Don't assume the C7 tail lamp shape issue will ever really go away any time soon. Get used to it. What I find even more interesting is that GM changed the Camaro's tail lamps to LED but never ever bothered to upgrade the C6 tail lights. The same will go for C7, Corvette is like the bastard step child at GM once introduced they forget about it for the life of the platform.

The Vega was actually a pretty cool car in its day especially when compared to its rival gas misers like the hideous VWs, Pintos, and Pacers.
The '14 Camaro taillight look great, nice rear treatment in general and far nicer than the mess of a behind on the current GT500s.
