Default Wait for the C7 Z06??

The Z51 looks so impressive on all the blog sites. Is it worth waiting for the C7 Z06?

I hear it will be world class in performance and yes a monster, however, also with that said pricing might be in the ZR1 area, don't think there will be two levels (i.e. Z06 & ZR1) there will be one performance model and from what I have heard it will perform.

Time will tell if this is correct.

I was thinking if they kept the c7 close to current c6 pricing that the Z06 would be very close to the current c6 z06 pricing. One could only hope.

I agree it's a beautiful car for sure but I will wait till they match or exceed the performance of my ZR1.

Take a look at the ZO6 and ZR1 numbers for the last few years, I can't see them making a both models again.

If they just threw the LS7 in the Stingray with wider tires, the price will be very reachable.

However, I think everyone expects much more than that.

Personally, I'd like to see a 12.0:1 compression, Direct Injection NA 7.0L at 575 HP. Plus weight reduction of about 100 lbs. That all by itself would be a smoking Z06.

That would work for me...maybe another 100 lbs off if possible. I think it would be a winner!

No doubt!! Especially if you come from modded cars, a stingray while cool and new would feel so slow.

Can't wait for the hi performance model whatever it will be........I can't buy base anyway.........lol. I have my fingers crossed it will come with FI!

Why punish yourself initially? Just get a Z51 now, then if the other version comes out in a couple years, sell/trade the Z51.

If they could get the weight to 3100 lbs, that would be incredible on this platform.

That with 575 hp/550tq would be a ridiculously awesome machine.

Oh, and a 2" fender flare with some 335 tires out back would be such a sexy look on this body. I'd sell a kidney for that, lol. Joking, but it would be awesome.

From those numbers, I don't see why they even offered the base car after the GS came out. The GS outsold the base cars 2:1!

I read some where on the forum that 2015 models will arrive by July 2014 so the wait won't be as long as you think if you place an order in early 2014. I really doubt the Z will lighter than the Z51, if anything it maybe heavier with the widebody, bigger tires, and strengthened components. Where are they going to remove a substantial amount of weight from without pushing the cost over 100k?

I think the last "news" I heard on it was that "something" is to be unveiled in Jan. in Detroit.

Anything newer/more than that lately on updates on it?

With as many engines that have blown up, they should throw the LS7 in the garbage...lol

Carbon Fiber is at an all time low cost if I remember correctly.
