I know that the painted silver wheels on the Z51 carry a different paint code and color description vs. the base five spoke painted wheels but the colors are very close. Sterling Silver vs. Silver Sparkle. It is back to the difference between the 2008 painted silver vs. the 2008 Pace car painted silver.
Here are a couple of pictures.
The Torque wheels on the Geneva convertible are painted in Sterling Silver. This is the same color as the paint on the painted Z51 wheels.

I have now owned 3 CTS Vs. The first two had chrome wheels, which are my personal preference. The third had painted wheels, which i was initially skeptical about. But for me, they clean up nice, look good. Not quite as striking as the chrome, but not muted either.
Still prefer the chrome, but painted is certainly not a bad thing for me.
