Removable top weight
hello all! I had a C6 but got rid of it in 2010. I am now coming back to the dark side and going with the c7 once they start building them!!
I was wondering if anyone on here has lifted the C7 coupe removable tops. I remember taking off the C6 top was quite difficult to do alone. I had just a regular body colored top. I would eventually get it done, but they seemed a little too heavy for the average person to remove. Putting them back on always seemed a bit easier.
Since my C6, ive stopped going to the gym....so hopefully they came up with a lighter roof or im in trouble!!

Yes, the C7's CF top (whether exposed or painted) weighs 16 pounds. However, the C6's non-transparent top weighs 24 pounds (per Tadge, NCM Bash, April). So yes, the C6's top weighs 50% more, but doing the math in reverse, when going from a C6 to a C7 non-transparent top (24 to 16 pounds), the reduction is only 33 1/3%.

16 lbs for the standard c7....about 8 lb drop compared to c6 standard roof.
Still ...best to workout a minimum of three times a week...45 minutes worth of training is time well spent...on your health,

At the Meet the Team Saturday, when I asked Tadge specifically about the weight of the transparent panel, he said it is within a pound or so of the carbon fiber panel.
