Avatars and Datedness!
I was innocently scrolling down on the Z06-supercharged discussion thread and since sam90lx and stingrayc7 posted right after each other, with white corvettes /w black wheels at almost the same angle, I couldn't help but notice (and make thread about) the C6 GS looking kinda dated in comparison. What do you guys think?

Of course a car with the basic design done 10+ years ago is going to look dated compared to a recent design.
IMO, you really need to refrain from stirring the pot like this.

I had a C1 (1961)-loved it. I now have a C2 (1966) a C3 (1975) and a C5 (2003 AE). I skipped C4 and C6. I am definitely getting a C7. The C7 makes anything C5 and newer seem dated, and obsolete looking. My opinion fellas!

I have always thoguht GS were kinda for grandpa's I dont see the advantage over a base really. Well my 2008 had 453 HP dyno'd rear wheels. Have a nice day with the dated ride..
No need to call names Sam.

I wouldn't turn down a C2 or C3 either.
Great things about cars is that they don't get old (ala Cindy) they still look as young as they did when they debuted. You can't say that about old supermodels....for instance....

Two different beauties. A 427/435 mid year looks "dated" next to a C7. An XKE looks "dated" next to a C7. A 550 Spyder, a 2002tii, a 250GTO, and a DB4 all look "dated" next to the C7.
Dated isn't a bad thing. Elegance is a reference point by which we judge design, and elegance is most commonly found in the romanticized manifestations of the greatest things that came before.
The C6 was, and still is as striking and handsome a car as it was in 2005. The C7 may or may not age gracefully. We've established that the C6 almost certainly will gain esteem. Chevy hit the mark with it.
And I'm a huge C7 fan. Love the car. Nothing bad to say about it.

Those who profess love for the C7 but unbridled disdain for the C6 are as obnoxious as those who profess love for the C6 but unbridled disdain for the C7. But, they do deserve each other /
