Default C7 Wheels

I am going to order a C7 vert in the next few days. It will be the non Z51. I have some questions/concerns about the wheel options. I do not like any of the choices, although the Z51 oprion wheel would be acceptable. Don't know if that can be put on the non Z51 without major problems or if at all. Okay, my thoughts are to just order the standard wheel and not pay for the upgrade polished wheels, then to buy an aftermarket wheel. My questions are this:
1-does anyone have thoughts as to why this is not a decent idea?
2-have any suggestions as to a vendor to buy from or maybe an idea
of what may appeal to any of you?
3-I have seen wheels from $300-3000. I do not want to go the high
price route. Are the wheels in the $300-400 range okay for the C7?
I have a '66 that I run hard and do not plan to use the C7 for track
use so I don't think I need some "special" wheel for the car.
4-if any of you experts out there can give me some feedback, it would
be appreciated. I just don't want to make a mistake and if I need
to just go ahead and order GM's wheel options and live with that, I
will. The car is fantastic otherwise, and this ain't a dealbreaker.
Thank you for your feedback

You are on the right track (pun intended!)....you should order the cheapest stock wheel offered, then switch them out later to a more attractive wheel. And, if you get a non-Z51 Vert you will get an 18/19 wheel setup which can be sold or put in storage as a spare set for resale, or emergency backup. The fun part is you will be able to upsize to the 19/20 setup if you like, or just stay at 18/19...there is nothing out of date or unattractive with 18/19s; and tires will be cheaper too. The trick is to select one of the modern wheel designs that mesh with the C7's new styling. You will want to show off your painted calipers, if you order them...that means a not-so-busy wheel with large openings. Avoid the lacy heavy looking spoked wheels....you want thin spokes to harmonize with the Vette's light vehicle weight. Hope this helps!

p.s. The C6 Spyder wheel design would be perfect.

I'm don't particularly like the wheel offerings, either. I'm getting the silver Z51 style, but will look into getting something else, like these in machine face.

I wish they had competition grey, black just hides too much detail.

thank you for the information. This is helpful. So, if I understand you, I could buy a set of the Z51 chrome wheels and although a differwent size, can install with no problem? I assume someone besides GM will have these available at a cheaper price in a short time?
How does changing the wheels affect the tire pressure monitor system, etc? Is that connected to the wheel at all and can some aftermarket mechanic genius mess up the whole thing?

I'm sure OE Wheels will have knock offs in short order. or you can go backwards and get C6 wheels. A lot of early C5's were wearing the C4 ZR1 style wheel in the late 90's, early 00's

I plan on ordering the Non-Z51 C7 with the cheap stock wheel, then buying some real nice after market wheels...

I going with the silver non Z51 wheel, plan is to trade the car in a few years, sure there will be nicer wheels by then. Another thing, can't see the wheels while driving and I plan to drive quite a bit.
