As we get closer to 2025... I imagine a small battery powering the front wheels for 20 so so miles without the gas engine will be both compact and light.
JudgeNJury You should watch the Jay Leno video of him testing the new Porsche 918 Spyder and you will see why Corvette is a C6.5. It's not even a 6.5 really as compared to Porsche 918 Spyder, BMW i8, and Acura NSX. Corvette for 2014 is not the future by any means.

You are funny. You make me laugh out loud. I like reading things you write because they amuse me. It is nice to know there are all kinds of different people in the world and some are inherently comedians at heart.

You got it all wrong. C6 refers to his age. Now he is 6.5
Colorado C6, I am sure the C7 is a player, and you are more than likely right about hybrid being the future, say with in the next 6 years. If the economy holds up and GM's profit line is good. I would bet that the C8 will be a hybrid v6 and smaller, also. But what we have now is the C7 with some good tech and fit and finish, along with a step up in the interior, so maybe we should just accept the new and dream of the future. As for the development of the Porsche , BMW, and other companies hybrids, I believe that the better management has allowed them to fast track new tech, they are all upper end car mfg. with higher profit than GM, example being that Porsce makes about $25,000 for every 911 they sell. Read this somewhere on this forum, but I can't quote it. So, given our economy and leadership I am quite please with what GM has achieved with the new Corvette, saying that it is a 6.5 is your opinion and what I wrote is my opinion. Somewhere in between is the " adjusted market value" don't you suppose?
The easiest method would be the mild hybrid type system used(was used?) on the Tahoe. The electric motor is in the bellhousing of an automatic, IIRC. The Corvette would likely use a Li-ion battery instead of lead-acid that was used in the Tahoe.
A more ideal system would have hub mounted motors at each of the front wheels and smaller li-ion battery pack This would give a version of AWD and allow more power than the current mild hybrid system. I see this as the only way we will see any version of AWD in a C7.
