I wasn't aware of this. Can someone share some insight? Does the standard car have multiple options too? Does it differ M7 or A6?
The 2014 Corvette Stingray has four available suspension systems .
• Suspension System Soft Ride (RPO FE1)
• Suspension System Ride, Handling (RPO FE2)
• Suspension System Sport (RPO FE3)
• Suspension System Special Ride and Handling (RPO FE4, Magnetic Selective Ride Control) I figured this one out...
Other than the GM Techlink, I have not seen the FE2 (handling?) suspension listed. It may be something that will be available later if you want a standard car with a bit better handling and don't want the Z51.
The other three are in the current order guide and are not tied to the M7 or A6 in any way.
FE1: Standard suspension
FE3: Standard with the Z51
FE4: Magnetic selective ride option (only avail. with Z51)
For years MRC was offered on base models but not performance models. Now in recent years it's been offered on performance models. Initially on the Stingray it's not offered on the base model for the first time. In seminars at the Bash it was mentioned that there wasn't time to fully develop both the base and the Z51 MRC for 2014 so they chose the Z51. The 4th suspension, FE2, is likely the MRC option for the base car.
Just teasing. Thank you again for all your input here.
I knew someone would say that!
Actually, this person will usually tell me if it's a simple mistake or if it's something that I should try to shuffle under the rug and ignore. In this case he said it was just a mistake.
Of course, he could be pulling the old Jedi mind trick...
