I have VIN (#764) and my car has been built. Now the serious waiting begins.
For those of you that are in the early stages of the ordering process, see the timeline in my signature. The car was built 6 weeks after allocation (2000). That's not bad; right on schedule as GM indicated last January.
IMO the window from order acceptance to build will shorten as production pace ramps up and suppliers get fully engaged. Of course constraints will always be a factor. Sure looks like GM underestimated the popularity of carbon fiber.

Alfie, I look forward to seeing a picture of your smiling face next to a 2014 Corvette. Have fun!
Alfie43; What color did you go with??? Interior??? etc etc.
Torch Red.
Originally thought I'd order Cyber Gray, but then I went to the Detroit Auto Show and Ed Welburn rolled out a Torch Red with the black wheels and black trim. At that moment, it had to be Torch Red.
I ordered the Blk/Blk 2LT interior. Honestly, if I could do it over, I would order a different color interior. Last winter, there wasn't the detailed information and photos available that we have now.
Regardless, I ain't complaining. After all, I have a new red Stingray with black leather interior...that's not too bad, is it? Also, as we all know; red is faster.
Thanks Alfie! I went to 3000 last Friday and was picked up the Friday before (2000). I set a hoped for date of October 25th which is 8 weeks from my pick up date. Going by your timeline, it looks like a good guess. I have been waiting for almost 10,000,000 seconds (May 27) with about 3,672,060 seconds to go. I'm retired as of May 31 so I may have too much time on my hands. Congratulations and thanks again for the timeline.
I just spoke with someone in bowling green yesterday and they said that production has not even started?? How are cars being born if the plant is not producing yet or is someone blowing smoke?

I can't even guess why you were given that erroneous information, but I will post these recent photos of the plant storage lot.

Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
