Default Ordering A C7

OK guys, this is serious. How do you actually order a C7 via internet. I know Rick Conti or Mike Criswell should chime in and have a class on this, but I want a C7. I don't want a C7 until next spring. When should I order, how do I ensure getting my car when I want my car? (March-April) How will get my car get to me? What gaurantees do I have that I will get it at a price agreed upon? What are the papers required and when?
Many here have never had to order a car before and I am positive there are do's and don'ts........some info please.

Any and all help would be appreciated (If Rick or Mike put out a tutorial, they would do way more business, IMO).

It might be really beneficial to send Mike or Rick an email or a PM explaining that you would like to be walked through the process, to both better understand it and to talk about ordering a car for you and your time frame.

It obviously not too difficult a process or so many of us would not do it. Things may work a little bit differently with Mike or Rick or Dave or Tommy Jr, so that is why I encourage you to contact the person you would most likely purchase from. Mike is in Maryland, Rick in Ohio, Dave in New Jersey and Tommy Jr in New England. There are also forum dealers in the southeast, midwest, west coast, etc.

PS: I just looked and see that you are in CA - you might try Tim at Boardwalk Chevy in Redwood City - also a CF supporting dealer

Thanks. I did talk to Rick via email, but I think he didn't really have any interest in something so far out in time. I will look up others.

^ Understandably all the CF Dealers are kinda swarmed right now. Lots of customers with C7's on order who are growing less and less impatient each day about their build date, ship date, quality holds, option constraints, you name it. Other customers still placing their C7 orders. And for most of these dealers, they are also still selling their remaining C6 inventories at the same time.

I say the above as a way of politely pointing out that a dealer may not be too keen to invest a lot of time at this moment about a purchase for March or April. It may be best to let them know your interest, and unfamiliarity with the process, and ask them to call you when they have adequate time to walk you through it all.

Right now, there is alot going on in terms of catching up to custoner orders. By next spring this will haved calmed down alot. If by next spring, you are thinking March, April, or May, I would plan on a turn around time of 8 weeks from order to delivery, at least that's what I've come to understand about the process. So, if you want the car in March, order early January for example. Also, by then there is a good chance that the higher volume Corvette dealers may, should, have them in inventory ready for immediate sale.
