The Stingray model or name has not been around every year. It was not an option for the past number of years. First was 1963. So the question is will it be a model option next year (2015)

All 1963 Corvettes were Sting Rays. It wasn't an option then either. (Although back in the day, a lady told her little boy that my 1963 Vert "wasn't a Sting Ray". It was a common misconception that only the Split Window coupes were Sting Rays.)
I had a 1963 sting ray vert. My post was to get opinions or anyone that would know if the nomenclature "STING RAY" will continue to be used for the C7 as the model name versus the potential Z07 or ZR7 etc. the name STING RAY means something to those of us that are old enough to drive the first one. It is without a doubt a collectors interest on older Vets.

All indications are that the Stingray is the name of the C7 and will be for the entire generation.
Yes, and 2016, 2017, 2018 and on until the C8. All c7s are stingrays. They just brought the name back for marketing to appeal to old people like you who think it will be special even though they are all stringrays.
