Default engine operating temp.

What is the operating temp of the C7 engine. My C5 operates at 198* and my Silverado 5.3L operates at 210*. Is the C7 operating at higher temps to pass environmental constraints?

Here's a pic from a current thread, 220* @77mph, assuming that's coolant.

Same here - she wants to run about 220, even if you push her pretty hard.

The 210-220 coolant temp is for MPG and EPA emissions. These allow the C7 to hit the 29 mpg hwy and lower CO2 emissions . It also shows very complete combustion and why we get 460 hp out of 6.2 l in a 2 valve engine.

My engine oil temp was always around 205-210 and coolant was always around 210-220 in my C5. I'd say this would likely carry over to the C7...

That would seem right to me. You only build pressure above 40 when you're at higher RPMs. I would guess since he's taking a picture of his cluster while driving, he's on on the gas.
