Ceramic Nano coating and clear bra install completed
How much easier does it make keeping the black paint clean and swirl free when adding that nano coating? Worth it? I've always loved black but refuse to get it due to that issue alone

I've actually found it is much easier to keep clean. It's garaged at night but parked outside all day at work, unfortunately. However, after this week there was visible dust if you looked at it closely. But was able to clean using a waterless/rinse-less wash. I've "washed" it 3 times now since it has been installed. No fine scratches anywhere. The coating I went with claims self healing. I suppose one day I will find out if it really works, but in no rush to find out either.
I had a black C6 two cars ago. Keeping it clean was a chore, I must admit. But that car I just went with the traditional wax method and enjoy it clean for an hour or so.
Then I went into a white C7 Stingray for awhile, honestly so I wouldn't have to deal with keeping the car as "clean". This Z06 was being discounted by the dealer + what they offered me on my trade in was almost too good to pass up. But I did think about it for a couple days due to it being black. But I couldn't pass up the deal.
I can say this, the Stingray was daily driven as well. While white I felt didn't show as much of the daily dust. This car feels easier to keep clean/maintain.
I will admit the full paint correction, clear bra and nano coat was far from cheap. But for this you really shouldn't look for the cheapest deal either.

Thanks for the reply! I really love black and think about getting that color next but I just wish there was a guaranteed "fool proof" way of protecting it from all those fine swirl marks without spending so much time in the garage. Xpel and nano is what I keep reading about. I'm interested to hear your thoughts once you've had it for a long time. How long have you had this car so far? With the nano coating you can pretty much just wash all the dirt off with minimal maintenance?
I apologize for hi-jacking the thread I understand it's a picture thread so I'll take it to PM after this.

Nothing is fool proof, unfortunately. But I did get the ceramic coating to help protect the car from me.
I actually did a waterless wash to it today. Took less than an hour to complete, including the wheels. Oh, had those coated as well.
I have had the car back from the detailer since May 5th this year.
My 2016 Z51.. picked her up 2 months ago (firewall sale at local Chevy dealer). Al Unser III works at the dealer and ordered her for the dealership.. traded in a 2015 Challenger SRT for her. Six miles on the odometer when I drove her off the lot; worlds better than the 2012 Vette that I owned previously.
Bought this one off the showroom floor about a month ago. I wanted the red calipers but the black Corvette with red calipers they had came with the competition seats. I found them uncomfortable. I clean this one after every drive. I've taken the wheels off once so far to clean the inside barrels. I imagine I will be doing this a few times during the driving season
Next step is tinting the windows.

Reason: spell
What you guys think of my 2016 blacked out Z51 Vert? Feedback would be great I'm 34 years of age and been saving for this beauty for a while always wanted one since I was 10. Finally did it and this car changed my life :-)
That is an amazing-looking car! Big congrats! I need a towel, I'm drooling here. Are you going to put any Xpel or any other protective stuff on it?
Thanks Blue! I had Xpel installed on the entire front, rockers, mirrors, etc as soon as I could get to the installer (at about 400 miles). I know that some guys think that it doesn't shine as well, but you can see from the pic that it can shine just fine. I didn't have it on my black c5, and after 2 years and 20k miles, the front looked ok from 20 feet, but at 5 feet you could see that it was chipped and sandblasted. I had Xpel installed on my cyber grey c6, and when I pulled it off after 6 years, the paint looked as good as it did when I bought it. Personally, I would NEVER drive a vette without some kind of ppf...especially a black one!
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
