Default c7 headers

I know headers are coming out for c7 stingrays, I read up to 30 hp 46 pounds of torque gained tuned. I say that's a lot any thoughts if so why is the motor so restrictive. I have seen stock dyno numbers in 410 range so with headers 40hp increase tuned of course that's amazing....I think I might add one to.my collection....

I saw LG's Facebook page update yesterday and they had nice gains without a tune. It looks like headers will again be a must add for those looking to squeeze out some power.

Sorry can't answer the restrictive question. Maybe others will chime in.

A slightly restrictive exhaust can help cats light off much faster, reducing emissions. I suspect this is why headers gain so much power, because that concern more or less goes out the window.

Sounds nasty on the LG headers YouTube video, huge difference and worth the price of admission.

I just seen that no a/f ratio I don't see just adding an exhaust will get that much I'm sorry either the a/f is dead on from factory or some tweaking had to be done that means u will be able to get 50 80 hp with just headers and a tune... GM engineers didn't restrict that exhaust that much, I don't bother with LG posts or ETC..... Sorry not my cup of tea ill wait to see what others get with Tune and exhaust....Maybe ill go get one...

Yea I seen that also they look very nice and hopefully they will have the most torque gain out of all headers.... Chip any cat-backs coming out yet. I heard Corsa was putting it an option for the c7.....

So I see that the exhaust is somewhat similar to the ls7 Chip.....Nice looking I wonder If Pfadt has dynoed yet with a tune on these cars yet it will be interesting to see the hp gained from stock.

So why on the LS7 Gain is so minimal some say 8hp some say 20 I think I gained maybe 12 but more torque but again I have 13/4 headers on my Ls7 I should have gotten the 1-7/8 for my application...

I don't see it. The dyno was untuned without cats. What if taking the cats off is responsible for 90% of the gain? What if it runs too lean without a tune?

Is it unusual for an LS3 to gain 30whp by eliminating the cats and replacing the header?

There is a lot of wishful thinking going on. Besides, you should all be asking how the temps change for the exhaust valve with the new header.

It's always easy to make extra hp with a 6.2L engine that starts off passing emissions, and GM reliability testing. But NONE of the HP is free. Show me a mod that is an upgrade without being a downgrade in some way.

I'll wait for the HI-po car built by GM instead. They know a thing or two about making proper upgrades.

I'm thinking the restriction is in the tune. Think about it the more cars I have seen the more the manufactures come out with a nice stock exhaust from factory im thinking heads and cam and exhaust car will be at 510 to wheels....So are you planning on buying one in near future... I think the timing is not as much as in the ls3 in the 20s more in the teens for c7 and its pig rich....

I wouldn't call it a restriction. It's just tuned with safety in mind from factory. If a tuner would come out with full sheet of specs showing that the car meets all of the GM benchmarks while gaining a few HP I'm all for it. Aftermarket parts are more like *****, turn reliability down to have power up. Turn NVH up to have power up and so forth.

Oem exhaust technology has been top notch for over a decade now. All the gains you see are almost entirely through the elimination of baffled resonators. That is fine...for a race car.
