Default MP3 Device Not Recognized

I posted this in the known issues sticky, but thought afterwards that I should create a thread allowing for comments (especially from Talon/Paul).

I have an MP3 memory stick plugged into the port in the center armrest console. It is a 64GB USB 3.0 device. Currently holding around 6,000 songs in MP3 format, using around 40GB of space.

Normally there is no problem. It plays fine and the audio controls work fine. But twice now I have experienced the following problem:

Media device is playing music. I stop the car and exit. When I return, the music resumes playing as usual. But the audio display tells me that no device is recognized. I cannot browse for categories or songs (via voice or touchscreen controls). I cannot pause or forward the current song.

If I turn off the car and accessory power and then restart, it recognizes the device again and I have full control.

Not a big deal, but I want it recorded for reference.

Have you tried it in a different USB jack?

try different usb stick, sometimes there's issues in compatibility even with computers. If the stick is failing, you wont notice it on a computer as much or maybe worse. Flash mem is a finicky creature
