It's very lightweight, weighs less than a pound, and I was able to make it specifically for my needs.
I think anyone could do it, just go to Home Depot or Lowe's and have them cut the pieces based on your measurements. It is about 3 inches tall, so that it fits flush with the bump up behind the seats. It is not reconfigurable, but it is very simple to make and inexpensive.
This is how, in my C6, I control a jack, a extendable lug wrench, a torque wrench with a 19mm socket and short extension , a 4'X6' plastic tarp, jacking pucks, old towel and hand cleaner. All in a 6" X 8" X 18" duffel bag, secured to the attachment points GM furnished for the cargo net.

I don't know if it could be installed tightly enough in our cars, but my wife has an extendable rod in the trunk of her sedan that can be fitted to almost any width and tightened against the sides of the "trunk." Not a foolproof solution, but it works remarkably well in her application and gives a very solid restraining rod that can be moved about as needed, and lashed to.
