Oil Change question
I have a Z51 with around 600 miles. I plan to lay her up for the winter in a week. Should I take to a dealer or have my usual mechanic change it. What oil filter should I use, manual says PF 64' in the past I have used Mobil one filters with Mobil 1 oil.

Any competent DIY, SAE mechanic, or oil change center can do the oil. Use a full synthetic from a reputable mfg, any name brand filter, and you are done. We have a C6 with 65K and with one exception, the oil has been changed at our neighborhood Jiffy Lube. They use Mobil 1 Synthetic 5-30 which is the OEM fluid and Fram filters. We pay attention to the DIC oil life monitor and follow its lead. The car is not a church to us so we don't obsess over the oil.

How can you put the car away? There should be lots of dry winter drives in the future. I don't suggest just going out in the slop, discrete operation should enhance ownership. I use mine all winter, got to watch the tire grip verses temperature though.
