Nice anecdotal stories. I found it interesting to hear a "little" inside, behind the scenes, info. Thanks.

It is an interesting interview, for sure. I like the way Bob thinks. I think in the above comment, Bob is throwing a bone to the C7 -as he should, supporting a new model. But it's already been proven at Laguna Seca that the C6 ZR1 smokes the C7 on that track. Cool interview though. One of my best friends went to see it live on Saturday, at the Peterson Auto Museum.

I remember an interview with Tadge in which he said that they considered going mid-engine for the C7. Guess he was understating it, since Lutz confirms that it was basically a done deal before the financial meltdown.

I won't be surprised if the next one is mid-engine, V6 and hybrid electric drive.

this is also an interesting video!

note what professional race car driver Randy Pobst says at 11:11, when it comes to cars, i'd rather take the word of a race car driver over a person who is in the business of selling cars

I want to see just how a test like that would go with the C6 Z06 and ZR1 vs the C7 Z51 (as they came all from the factory) on the same day with the same driver on the same track just to see how different or similar they really are.

I don't think same day matters MUCH. Maybe a couple 10th's at most. Probst drove both the ZR1 and the C7Z51. He did that at the same track -Laguna Seca. Same driver, same track, different days. Temps are pretty consistent at Laguna Seca. It's not like New England, or Utah. Anyway, the ZR1 went something like 5 seconds faster. A different day isn't going to make up for 5 seconds. That is a slaughter (as much as I dig the C7). I'm not "dissing" the C7; it's awesome, but the ZR1 has 200 more HP, weighs less, and has better tires -all points that Bob Lutz made in that video. It also cost $50k more. It better beat a base C7.

I'm not sure what your point is here?

"Best 'Vette Ever?"
Probst: "Not yet."
