First post. I'm anxious to covert to a C7 after driving BMWs for years. I've test drove one and I'm sold on the performance, design interior and out, and the ride quality. The designers got this car spot on, but the complete lack of quality control is utterly disappointing in all three cars I've seen. All had the same issues, paint problems on and around the hatch, the door jams , and apparent leaking around the hatch with watermarks on the plastic part of the hatch below the glass. The issues showed up in pictures easiest on the yellow car.
Who can these pics be sent to at GM that will actually see them and try to correct such blatant problems?
I'm ready to order one of these as soon as such issues are addressed.
They won't have the quality production and paint our BMW's do. You're in for a big disappointment if your seeking the quality you've been used to for years from BMW. I've made peace with that. Regardless it needs to improve.
You joined our ranks today to help Chevy get the C7 right so that you can buy one?
I'd like to see someone acknowledge it and say yes it's being worked on. Feel free to be skeptical, but all I'm doing is showing what I've seen first hand. The car I want is a 2LT, Z51, 7 speed with mag ride, carbon fiber dash and Nav. Black wheels, red calipers, carbon flash spoiler and mirrors, Laguna blue on velocity red. $64,500 MSRP. I do want to own one of these.
BMWconvert, thank you for posting these pictures. It helps people know what to look for. It's also interesting that these pictures represent a sample of three different cars you looked at.
I am in the same boat. I'm ready to buy, but not at this quality level. I am coming from a C5 Corvette, and based on my car, and other prior model Corvettes I've seen and owned, GM or not, Bowling Green is capable of building cars to much higher standards than this.
Like many, I'll wait (although not forever, so I hope they are working on QC diligently).
Some people will always be in denial on this Forum and shoot anyone who has a negative comment. All cars have first year issues, accept it, I have and I have loved my Corvette's for 40 years.
