Default Your opinion on tinting the rear lights and reflectors?

In photoshop I've compiled several examples of what the rear lights and reflectors could look like if tinted.

Which one do you like best?

1. No tint at all
2. Light tint
3. Full tint
4. Bottom reflectors only

1.

2.

3.

4.

I like 3 and 4, leaning more towards #3.

this is not popular , but realize if you are tinted dark and illegal, and a person hits you in the rear, it will be your fault, but more importantly, you are open to civil suits for manufactured health problems...you might win, but legal costs will be yours...in short, don't do it....

Cops have forums too, read what a few say:

No tint.

I wouldn't want to diminish visibility at all, especially since the C7 stops in shorter distances than most cars.

Light tint. As long as there is a hint of red nobody will notice.

Check out the OEM tails Ford put on the 2013 Mustang. They look lightly tinted from the factory.

Would you disconnect your front brakes because it looks cool? Tail lights, brake lights, and brakes are all safety devices, and they are all there for a reason!

Check with your insurance agent and see how much coverage they will give you if they find out that you've tinted your tail lights.

I'm with you. Based on my experience with c5s and C6s, drivers have a hard enough time noticing corvettes, being small and low, without making it even less conspicuous. Definitely not covering the brake lights.

No tint. Anyone who claims that even a light tint doesn't decrease visibility is seriously misinformed.

Hmmm, I wonder what a prosecution lawyer would say about that reduction in visibility in the event of an accident?

I would go with no tint, but if you just have to do a tint job, go with the lighter shade.

Default I tinted mine

I had mine lightly tinted. The tint goes well with a blacked out theme. When they light up, you can't even tell they are tinted.

^ That's a sinister looking batmobile! Looks intimidating too. Works well with the darker colored cars.

For me personally, I'd stick with the stock look on my blade silver coupe.

I love it zhopper, you're in texas too. Should you get any heat because of the tail lights or rear reflector keep me us posted please.

I just got my custom plates in too, the all black with the white line on the bottom, I can't post a picture of them though since it's well known that I had my ECU tuned which voided my warranty. Don't want GM to flag my VIN number

IMO you should debadge it, leaving only the corvette flags. With our all black theme on both our cars, it goes a long way. PM if you're interesting and I'll give you all the details on the best method to do it your self.
