The thread title is definitely misleading, but not sure not sure why you think he doesn't "own" a C7 or even why that is relevant?
Maybe it's a spouse or family member's C7. Or has test driven it. But based on the comment "When I start the car, the door pops open due to my left knee touching the door release button exactly on the head. I move my leg, but each time I relax or forget, the door pops open again." so apparently they drive it...

Seriously, this is a dumb thread.
BTW, I was guilty of turning the motion sensor off with my left knee on occasion on my C7...I just moved the seat back 1/2"...no problem.

Or just turn on the auto lock feature. Doors lock when car begins to move. Won't open until car stops or unlocked intentionally.
Seriously, this is a dumb thread.

Corvette fan
My CTS Vs had the same door opening setup as our vettes but the inside button was mounted much higher so that this could not happen.
Early on it has been an adjustment to reach down for it.

I see. I just went and sat in my car, and I guess I don't know how (at 5'6") you could have the seat far enough back to hit the button but still be close enough to reach the pedals.
I'm 6'3", and this is a pic of where my left leg is with respect to the door release button...
Now if I left the seat where it is with some slight adjustments, because of our height differences your knee could hit the button, but you probably couldn't reach the pedals. Do you have an A6 car and maybe bend your left leg up and relax it while driving?

be a good measure to report to the department of safety so
they could do test. Many here will defend it to the last
breath. What was wrong with a plain ole door latch. Electric
for this is overkill. Always hated the opening and closing on

The OP should start wearing a short skirt! By wearing a short skirt the OP will be well aware of the position of his knees. Sanding then probably won't be necessary, but shaving them might help.
If that doesn't work, there is always the BIRTH CONTROL METHOD, "Hold an Aspirin between your knees!"

Scraping the splitter.
So tonight, I was moving some things out to the garage where the C7 is parked and thought of this thread. I had my 14-year old son, who is 5'6" and ~160# get into the car and the seat was positioned so that he could reach the pedals and see well...
The door button is about at the middle of his thigh. Actually, it's closer to his hip than his knee (pocket of his "pants" is visible at the lower part of the picture). The picture was taken with his left foot on the dead pedal.
So I'm still puzzled how the OP has the seat positioned and is sitting in the car. It seems weird.

WOW that is bad. Insteading making note here, wouldn't it
be a good measure to report to the department of safety so
they could do test. Many here will defend it to the last
breath. What was wrong with a plain ole door latch. Electric
