Larry,

Have you been here watching all the order proceed over the last few months? It does not seem like you have and many of those that have responded trying to explain things to you certainly have....trust me.

They know what they are talking about so please take their knowledge and advice and just say thanks rather than argue.

Good luck with the order, I hope it goes well and quickly. If you have a question about how it all works...just post and you'll have the right answer in no time.

Why does Larry's dealer who has one convertible allocated in the first round get to order it before my dealer who has two allocations for convertibles in the first round.

What "first round"? We are late into the initial "total estimated allocations" that each dealer was notified of. Certainly not the first round of convertibles, as some have already been built. I don't understand what you mean by "first round".

Also, any eligible dealer can place an order (order status 1100). That means squat. It only matters when the order is matched against an actual allocation by a dealer. From what I am reading, this has not happened yet for Larry.

By first round I meant the initial allocation which was for the first 6 to 9 months.. As I understand a second allocation has been given to dealers for the remainder of the model year. With all the back and forth I thought that Larry's car was at 2000. My error he is still at 1100 I guess.

Default Save yourself alot of grief

This a very rare post... Rare because a select few forum members crucify anyone and everyone who dare voice their opinion...but here goes anyway.

If you want to buy a new C7 and avoid all the BS that comes from local dealers....I suggest you contact Rick Conti at www.corvetteconti.com. He is a forum member and one of the most honest individuals you will ever meet in the Corvette World. I have purchased three Vettes from him, the latest of which was a C7. I placed the Z51 order less than 3 weeks ago and have moved to 3300 as of today.

And I'm not paying $8500 over MSRP like a local dealer wanted to charge me.

Call him, you will not regret it!!

That "initial allocation" which, as you state, was for the first 6-9 months was not actually an allocation. This is one of the things that has people confused. True allocations only occur during the bi-weekly consensus process. This 6-9 month number was Chevy telling the dealers how many actual allocations they could expect to receive over that 6-9 month period. The actual number could be more or less, depending on actual production volumes. I think we would be better off if we called that the initial estimated dealer volume (avoiding the use of the word allocation).

Not sure where your going, but maybe this will help. This is the way my order has gone so far:

0. Deposit 04/27/13
1. 08/30/13 received order #RGPJJ3
2. 09/1/13 production event 1100
3. 09/06/13 production event 3000
4. 09/21/13 production event 3400-broadcast
5. 09/23/13 Assigned TPW 11/11/13
6. 10/05/13 Went back to production event 3000
7. 11/04/13 production event 3300
8. 11/17/13 production event 3400

Guess what I'm saying - sequence is NOT the same for everyone.

Actually this thread didn't go as I projected. I started out analyzing the Preliminary Order Form, order number and allocation group and a date assigned to the actual allocation. I was expecting others to provide input on same. I had a different idea as how order process worked. The system described seems weird (dealer has allocation but doesn't really even when computer accepts order and assigns number, until?) and with modern computer capability, dated. Well I'm not going to stress over it, just sit back and watch.
