The C6 manual had specific warnings about using only approved cleaners, such as "GM Glass Cleaner". The warning was that some cleaners had chemicals that could damage the panel. People tended to use the cleaners that were made for aircraft windscreens.
The C7 manual simply says not to spray glass cleaner on the panel, but instead to spray it on a towel then wipe. There is no mention of harmful chemicals, or using their GM Glass Cleaner.
I've been hoping that the new C7 panel was better material than the C6, since those were known to craze over time, or if mistreated. I've never read anything that suggests it's new material though.
NO! Don't take the chance. Remember it's plastic, not glass. No chemicals. Plexus is the most recommended cleaner.
I've been using Plexus for years on my motorcycle windscreens with no problems. That's what I'll use on my transparent top for any thing that resists a normal wash.
Use nothing that has ammonia in it. It may cause crazing after time. At least that is what it seems to do it on the C6 "glass" tops, and I assume the C7 tops are the same material. Just use soap and water and wax it the same as you do the painted surfaces. Basically treat it like paint on the outside. Inside a Plexiglas cleaner is best.
