Default Air Inlets - Where does debris go?

Occasionally, I'll have small leaves drop into the rear air inlets when the car is parked. I don't see how these come out from underneath, is there a way to clean the area out? Anyone?

I have not studied the cooling ducts on the C7, but I would think that they are just a duct that directs the air that enters from the inlets to the areas that are being cooled, much like the brake duct cooling vents on the C6 and C5 Z06's

yup... it's a PIA - you cannot get the vents off except from underneath and require inner fender removal...I keep a set of ankle weights over them when I park for the night in my complex which has huge tree debris...moving soon, but if I stayed, I'd make covers....

I believe the OP is talking about crap getting in there as well. On the Z51, those vents are functional and feed 2 heat exhangers. So any crap entering is going to be trapped by those exchangers, much like a C6's radiator being plugged up by crap that is "vacuumed" up by the bottom-feeding air intake

Someone must be working on development of a composting box to put in each vent...

Assuming you put the top up

I had wondered about this as well, because we've got live oak trees that drop one thing or another year round it seems. Sounds like a problem.

But for those that drive the cars in the rain or when they are washed, there must be a drain for water to drain through, correct? If not where does excess water go. I always wondered about it!

I parked under a white pine that was shedding needles. The needles tend to fall end down, so after about 2 hours the vents were stuffed with hundreds of them. I had pull them out one by one...

It will be light preflighting an airplane with all the covers. Maybe we'll need a checklist

You don't do a walk around your C7 before you leave in the morning? :
