Hi guys, my wife and I are interested in the 2014 Corvette. We saw one in person and WOW, incredible. The car we sat in had the standard GT seats, what are your thoughts on the Competion seats. I love the look of the Competion seats, but I do not intend to race the car on a track.
I was talked out of them by my salesman that sat and drove in both at school. Out of 300 or so orders, he only ordered 2-3. I had them in my 458 and loved them and can tell you that the standard seats are great and unlike any previous Corvette.
Ask me in 2 1/2 weeks when I get my car. Mine will be one of the first customer cars built with Comp seats.
I have not sat in them, but I have seen a display with both side-by-side. They measure the same width so I don't buy the small/skinny thing. Supposedly the Comp seats use a denser foam but it was hard to tell on the display seats.
Hey Racerdj, what school and when? Your salesman's report is contrary to some others I have read.

The sides are much stiffer. So, if you are wider, you feel them more in your side.
The same for getting in and out of. The sides don't flex as much which makes it tougher for us older folk to get out of.

Iirc, even Tadge made the comment that if you are going to do a lot of touring, the Gt seat is the way to go. The comp seat is just that. I don't think most ladies would like it.

But I do plan to spend a lot of time at Spring Mountain and I need the harness pass through.
If you are not going to track the car why would you want to spend the money for them ? They are much stiffer and really were designed for those that spend a lot of time at the track.
From: Calgary, AB. There's a reason why white was the only color offered on every year Corvette. Proud Canadian German Jamaican!

One of the first built....mine was built the week of Nov 18.

Do you have your car yet?
My order went 3000 on the first consensus AE4 was available (10/24-29). It sat at 3000 waiting for CF parts until 11/14 and did not go 3400 until 11/25. Due to be built next week 12/2.
I have sat in both, and even considered ordering the comp seats, in fact wanted to, but my order was at 3400...because they look cool!! They are harder to get out of, and are a bit stiffer. If you are going to track the car...probably a good idea, but if not a lot of extra money.
Also, to the ladies, my wife is in tip top shape and 4'11" and she had a harder time getting out of the comp seats. Long story shortened...with the 3LT Z51 Vert touring seats...I am completely satisfied. Drove 120 miles home from Columbus Vette. Felt great...as comfortably as our Lexus.

My vert order went to 3400 on 11/19. Expecting build this week with comp seats. I am top heavy with 50 long coat size so I may be wedged in the seat. Is their an option for ejection seat? Then again, I may not want to ever get out of the Vet.
so far, I haven't seen or heard one person who knows these seats fr. GM recommend them for anything other than actual competition. I have heard them say it is not a good idea for most who street drive, tour, or take trips. their views, maybe not yours.
I will be doing 2,000+ miles, in three days, driving home after I pick mine up NCM delivery. My wife is riding with me. If the AE4 seats are not comfortable it will be a long three days.
I run my Sleep Number bed at 90-100 and prefer a solid chair to an overstuffed one, so I am not worried about the firmness for me. I may have to stop and get a pillow to fill in the back for my wife.

If GM warns you then you better be prepared to get your butt kicked..LOL
