Default How dark is transparent roof?

Hi Folks,
In my ideal build I would like the carbon fiber roof, but there is a vehicle available that meets my specs, EXCEPT it has the clear roof.

For those of you who have the clear roof, how dark is it? I am a bit of a vampire in that I never use the sunroof on any of my cars, I like it dark inside, and hate sun in my eyes. Would I hate the see-thru roof?

I am living with my transparent top for now. It is more transparent than I like. I am researching a way to darken it. I don't particularly like it for Florida, especially as it gets hotter.

i like the transparent look from the outside. i will try plasidip smoke rubber spray when i get the new car. good thing is you can use easily remove it if it doesn't provide the proper darkening.
you caN progressively darken with progressive coats.

Not Dark Enough!!! The dual top option was on constraint when I ordered my C6, so I took the transparent only. Big mistake here in Florida or anywhere else in the Summer. Had to get a suction cup applied inner liner to survive. Do not get transparent only!

I have had the transparent top on my vettes for years and like them. A little hot in the summer, maybe, but the AC cures that pretty quickly. You can also buy shades, at least you could for the C6 and I am sure they will be available shortly for the C7.

I was dreading getting the transparent top on my car, I had ordered it since the carbon roof was on constraint. After driving with my transparent top I think its a keeper, plus I love the look of it compared to painted top

I am strictly a vert person, the only coupe I owned was an 1985 tinted top because they did not make verts that year. One thing I loved about the car was driving at night and seeing the moon and stars. I was forced to order a coupe this time because it makes it easier to take my dogs with me and I think that I an going to love the tinted top. As far as heat goes I have been comfortable with temps in the high 90s and low 100s with the convertible top down and the A/C cranked up on high

Nothing wrong with your opinion, but for everyone who hates it, there's someone who loves it, and that would be me. My transparent top for the C6 was purchased after I got the car, and the painted top has been in the closet for 2 years. This is FL BTW, and the car isn't even garaged. Naturally, I ordered my C7 with transparent only

Cheers,
Rusty
