2015 Z06 or ? ZR1
Hi guys, who is waiting to buy the 2015 Z06 or the ZR1 whenever that car(ZR1) will be released. I must admit GM hit the 2014 Stingray out of the park, but I'm really intrigued on what the ZR1 will be like when it arrives. I'm waiting for the ZR1 myself. I'm 45 and want the best, what are your thoughts?
Thanks, Mike

Hi Mike. Welcome. I am waiting for the Z06. We do not fully know yet if GM will offer both.

I walked into local GM dealer few months ago and their attitude about being able to get me a 2014 even base car was so awful that went out and got my 07 911 turbo. I could have of course looked around more but very limited allocations up here in Canada. Heard 300?
Decided that will still likely get a c7 and that would rather get a z06 or zr1 anyway over the base car . So see what the new z06 looks like but probably will wind up waiting a couple of years and then buying a z06 or zr1 used. Save so much buying them used . Did exact same thing on my sold last spring z06 . Got it for a smoking price compared to new , which was made even worse by GM Canadas greed which at least now the prices of Canadian and US cars is much much closer together finally.
And did not bad when sold it as the deprecation slows down after the first couple years.
But definitely a c7 z06 or zr1 is in my not too distant future.

Hard to say what GM's future plans are at this point. We'll have to see what the C7 Z06 has in it's content. Is it gonna be fixed solid roof like past Z06/ZR1 models or also include vert/removable roof or an auto option. Seems likely they won't have all those selections available or else why is Callaway gearing up to offer their signature package like they had on the C6 lineup. Maybe downstream GM will come out with a twin turbo/DCT combo or something similar for the super top of the line C7. All fun possibilities ahead.

Let's hope for both during the run of the C-7!

C7Z may be our last opportunity to buy a traditional manual high performance vette. (similar to the direction Porsche went with the GT3)

are you hoping for a DCT ZO6? I seriously doubt that will happen. We could see it on a ubber expensive future C7 ZR1. I believe the DCT will be the only transmission option available on high performance vettes from that point forward.
