Default Stingray Emblems

I like the Stingray name (had a '73 as my first 'vette) but I'm not wild about the little stingrays on the sides. Can they be easily removed with dental floss (like the chicklets on my present C6) or is there a body depression or something under there that's worse than a stingray? Anybody know? Or does everyone just love the stingrays?

Planning purchase of a Lime Rock Green Z51 coupe "soon" (my wife doesn't read this forum!).

There are numerous people who have already done it. No depression there. Dental floss should work.

I like them, but they come off easily.

1st if you like all your badges, skip this thread - nothing to see here. But if you are like me, Chrome has gotta go...here's how it's done.

Go to CVS and get what's in this pic:

If you are in the north, a hair dryer to warm the badge helps, some will use a heat gun, I don't like them on paint so here's the easy way.

1. Get a little eye drop bottle and fill it with Goo gone. Use it to put drops on the tape behind the badge, re-wetting it every 15 min..for an hour...and please, before I get attacked with mis info, , I've been doing this for 10 years, goo gone is fine on paint for an hour...it's citrus......
2. use the floss to get behind the badge and "saw" it off..if you waited an hour, it should fall off with very little effort
3. use your fingers and a MF rag to gently rub with more goo gone until the area is free of adhesive.
4. re wash and wax the area

done!

I have a '73 coupe love the Stingray in script, I had hoped they would go old school with the C7 however I will embrace the new badge on my CRT Z51 vert.

I've seen pics on this site of the new Stingray with the '73 script.

You can also use fishing line if you don't have any floss. It works fine. You should, however, get some floss, as it has been shown by the Council on Dental Therapeutics to be an effective practice that can be of significant value against tooth decay when used in a conscientiously applied program of oral hygiene and regular professional care.

So, if I don't have floss, can I use fishing line on my teeth?

I did not like the little chrome colored plastic stingray stickems. The lines of this car are too beautiful for this kind of distraction. I took them off in about 20 minutes following Glen E's thoughtful recommendations. You be the judge.
