just for the heck of it I took my stick on V1 mirror bracket I got for my C6 from Corvette Central for $39.95 and reshaped it a bit to see if it would work on the C7 mirror. It appears it will be a great intermediate solution until something better comes along. The only down side I see is the detector is a little lower than it was on the C6. I WILL be changing the double stick tape to black before someone takes me to task for the crappy installation. I wanted the see if it would work first.

great location for function. don't like the visibility loss--may trigger a ratso rizzo moment.
If you were to take a dremmel to the middle part of the bracket (notched part) that seems to make contact/interfere with how high you can mount the bracket to the mirror, you could easily correct the "low position," just a thought.
I didn't run it yet but I am running it under the weatherstripping along the top and pillar and then under the dash to the center console power outlet. That outlet is on the ignition switch.
Mike.
BTW I did dremel the plate to raise the bracket a bit. I need to get my new tape to reinstall it. Great suggestion!
Another suggestion, the mirror gets power right? Perhaps there's a way to tap into the power leading to the mirror rather than threading a power cable through the pillar and such. Maybe pop off that bulbous cap leading to the roof to gain access to said power cable to tap into. Though not being a C7 owner I have no idea if that's where the wire bundle is, or you could tap into the "hot wire" for the map light....either way if you're going through the trouble of routing your own cable anyway, it's worth a shot.

It's been tried, not enough amperage with the LED bulbs. There is full power at the console outlet.
