Trailer and Track Prep for C7
I'd like to track and travel (summer vacation) with my new Z51 C7 this summer - what prep does the car require for tracking (Mid Ohio) and drag (Kilkare) and what is the best trailer (and do I need one for the track days).
Thanks in advance for your insight!

The type of trailer you buy depends on your tow vehicle and your trackday needs.
That being said, I have many of my friends that drive their cars to and from the track. But they have to play Tetris putting all their track gear in the trunk of their cars.

I want take the car to the lake for the summer (with a wife and 3 kids) - question is, what kind of trailer.
I'd suggest that you check out the "Autocross and Road Racing" subforum - access it under "General Corvette". There's a lot of folks there that track/autocross, and always constant discussion about trailering.
I use a RnR 20' open aluminum for my C5Z and C6Z. I believe that the C7 can use the same tie down locations as the C5s and C6s (the shipping slots along the frame rail). You'll find a lot of discussion as to the merits of open aluminum, open steel, rollbacks, enclosed, etc.

how far to your frequented tracks? I drive to Mid Ohio, three hours, and PittRace, 4:20. I trailer to NCM and watkins Glen, 8+ Hours
how often will you be tracking? I need a trailer once a year so I have resisted. If you are on long hauls 4,5,6 times a year, it’s probably worth the investment. I split the difference, I put a hitch on my C5 and pull my tires and tools to the track.
many local trailer sales business rent car haul trailers as well if your like me and only need it a few times a year. I don’t have a place to store the trailer either so I’d need to pay storage as well.
In 7 years I’ve needed a tow home twice. Once I paid a flat bed tow service $800 to get me home and the other I had a trailer ( my buddies) So it does happen. I hope I’ve had all my bad luck I’m going to have.
Good luck !
