Default C7 paint issues and detailing

I just got my car detailed and topped with cquartz finest by an awesome detailer in Gilbert, AZ. Windows and Wheels. It was an awesome experience with The duo of Wills and Dani.
Just got my car back and it looks amazing!
I will post pics tomorrow when I get a chance.

My concern is that once they washed the gloss off the car they noted a ton of paint problems, most of which were from the factory. My car was only hand washed twice which could account for some of the swirls but not a lot of the other paint issues.

Wills was kind enough to post a You Tube video of the paint issues. Also if you are on Facebook look up Windows and Wheels for some before and after pics of my car.
I will definitely be contacting Chevy and my dealer about this.

Here is the link for the You Tube video.

Why did you let the detailer touch the car once the damage was discovered. I can only assume that it will hurt your case with the dealer/GM on any kind of restitution.

That damage is just incredible.

Looks like someone already worked on that car and tried to fix a paint problem.

Unacceptable.

Did you not see these problems before you took delivery? Black is the most revealing color so it's not like you could have missed it. I would never have accepted this car and it seems odd that the factory would have put such effort, and very poorly, into every inch of a new car. I'm glad it looks great now, but something else happened to this car and I suspect it wasn't at the factory.

That car was butchered by a very incompetent detailer, probably someone the dealer used. It is great that you found someone to "fix" the paint, but honestly, I'd say it needs a respray. I hope you got thousands off the price.

This stuff wasn't visible when I bought the car. The detailer told me basically the polish used by the factory or dealer covers up all of this and can only be seen once washed off. Yes the detailer was able to fix the paint and it looks amazing now.

Can we see detailed close up pics of the areas shown in the video after the detail was done?

Thanks in advance

I would imagine if this statement was consistently true across all corvettes, we would have seen a lot more complaints and videos.

This is an early VIN 216 that had been sent to Nashville. I took a friend who knows about cars and he didn't notice anything major with tthe paint when I picked up the car at the dealer. I highly trust the detailer in what he has been telling me. He will be providing me before and after pics of problem areas along with a writeup of all the paint defects he found.

So the flaws were found before the detailer touched the car right?

Seems like who ever detailed it at the dealership before you took delivery did some damage.

if you have a car that is courtesy delivered how do you handle situations like this because you have already paid for the car for it to ship? Just curious because i am having mine courtesy delivered and want to know what to do IF i have any problems like this.

old trick .....you can buy a bottle of the stuff goes on like wax covers the scratches ........till you wash it then it comes off.

Holy crap..unbelievable..some of the damage looks like it's due to the white shipping cover being hastily put on and taken off a dirty car!
Good you got her polished....bad it cost you money.
I had black before and it shows every flaw. Constant pita.
Good luck.
