Which has more head room? I hope the convertible has a bit more room as I can't fit in the coupe comfortably. I'm a coupe guy, but I'd go with the Vert if it is even a bit more roomy...
So, you're saying the top goes up on the convertible?
I'm gonna have to try that.
The top might go up on yours but it doesn't on ours. Our C6 top is down 350 days a year. Half those days it is never up. The C7 will be no different. RC8 on 1-8-14.
Update on my original question. I got to sit in a convertible yesterday and I am happy to say I had plenty of headroom with the top up.(Even more with it down ) Now the question is was the seat maladjusted in the coupe with a transparent roof I tried earlier or is there really more headroom in the convertible. So the results so far: I can drive a convertible but not the coupe.
Both are the same, and still tight, on leg room, I have about 1/2" between my knee and the dash (I have about 1" in my C6). The main difference is a hard ridge in the dash just where my knee sits in the C7. I'd probably need a little pad to be comfortable on long trips.
Maybe this will help. With the seat lowered all the way down in my 3LT coupe, there is 37" between the headliner and the bottom cushion where it meets the seat back.
The official dimensions are 37.9" of headroom for both the coupe and convertible. I'm not sure why I'm missing the .9", but I double-checked the measurement.
I honestly do not think that the clear top gives you much more headroom than the standard or carbon fiber top. At most, the padding inside that is stuck to the opaque rooftops is only about a quarter of an inch in thickness and maybe not even that.
Yes, the fabric is quieter and insulated more from outside noise than the coupes.
Also, the vert doesnt have the opening into the cargo space, its basically a standard coupe space.
that also limits the space available for noise to come in.
I really think that there is a lot of merit to having a vert over a coupe if you run with tops off, and you dont need a lot of cargo space.
Remember, the Stingray was designed as a Vert first, then as a coupe
completely automatic, no manual locks to release, remote control function and with audible beep to signal when top is locked or stowed.
And you can access function up to 30 MPH.
I had a C6, and you had to manually release or lock the top- and you had to engage the parking brake one click if you wanted to put the top or down while driving up to 30mph.
This top us much quieter than my C6 both in function and interior of the car as you drive
