Default Car Washes

What are you guys doing about washing your car? By hand, touch less quarter ones or drive through. It's to cold here for hand wash and not sure I want to use the drive throughs. Your thoughts please.

Hand's down the best way to wash in winter (after rinsing off if really dirty) is the "garry dean rinseless" method....he sells some stuff here, but any rinsless product works great - turtle wax rinseless at walmart is great stuff...watch the method here:

I never run my cars through the car wash. All three of my vehicles are washed gently by hand...

I'm a big fan of Griots Waterless Wash BUT....

I still wash during cold weather by using warm water in the bucket and wearing waterproof ("dishwashing") gloves during the drying process.

Works great

I use a brushless hi pressure car wash. Nothing touches the car. I like to have the under side pressure washed and the local system does just that.

I also live in a climate that is not condisive to outside hand washing most of the year. I used the local touchless wash all the time when I had my 09 C6 coupe. No issues at all, and I got the same amount trade-in for it that I would have if I had only hand-washed it.

But the C7 is different. For one thing, I've had a hard time getting used to exactly where the front wheels are, and I've dinged up the rims on the wheel track thing. Very annoying. I think the C7 wheels are more prone to damage, because I never ha a problem with my C6.

Anyway, for the C7, I won't be using the touchless. I've gotten into the Adam's products and they offer both rinseless and waterless wash products. I use them in conjunction. So far, so good. I can get the car clean in my heated garage without to much effort. If it gets really dirty, I'll use one of the sprayer car washes to rinse off the majority of dirt, and then finish in my garage.

When I can't do my own, I take it to Delicate Touch in Alsip, IL, a hand car wash where you always see numerous high-priced cars being tended to. $16 for a great wash, and the inside and pressure underneath for a few dollars more. A top to bottom detail, including the engine bay, is $175 for my 'vette.

My son takes his to Platinum Hand Car Wash in Elmwood Park with similar pricing and clientele. :cheers;

I use the local car wash, they use brush and all, I don't have time to wash my cars. Its a nice high profile car wash so its all good
