Okay. I have had two C5s and I skipped the C6. I have always said that I will get a c7 convertible. I will be getting a 2LT quadruple back vert with NAV and Z51 with MN7. I can't justify the cost/value of 3LT.
What else am I missing option wise? I realize wheel color and calipers which are personal preference. But what other must have option am I missing?...excepting magnetic ride...I just like the performance enhancements of Z51.
From what I have read on this Forum, unless you track your car, you don't need the Z51 package. The ride I hear is better with the non Z51. Other than that, you will be getting one awesome car in a vert.

You mentioned mag ride loosely. That would be one key option I would and did give serious consideration to. I chose to go with it as it makes the ride much more compliant when you want it and with the push of a button or two, tightens up like a go cart. While I don't have my car yet as it's in transit, that was the general perception I got from my research and what others have posted.
I've never owned a Vette with mag ride and decide that was a must have for me. I had an 09 Z06 and swapped the stock shocks for custom valved DRM Bilstein's and those shocks felt extremely progressive compared to the stock Z06 shocks. Those DRM shocks were one of the best bang for the buck upgrades I did no my Z.I'm expecting even better from the MRC.
NPP exhaust is a must have in my opinion. Other things to consider are whether you want thre carbon black mirrors and spoilers. I chose those along with the black wheels. Carbon dash is a nice option but an item that could delay an order if its on constraint. That is also something I wouldn't order as the dash piece costs about $500 from certain online dealers and its a $1000 or so option as part of the build. I'm going to buy the part and install it myself at some point in the future. Then there are the competition seats. Firmer, tighter and have some exposed carbon fiber in them.
Other options to consider include the stinger stripe which is a $500 or so option that is nothing more than a vinyl decal. You can order the same stripe along with others and install it your self from VetteFX for a fraction of that price or have it painted on for under $500. In my case I chose the VetteFx option to make sure I like the stinger before I have it painted. I will install that myself with some warm soapy water and a credit card. Upgraded door sill's, upgraded floor mats, trunk mat and shade are all things I would add after the fact.
Other things to consider are whether you want the carbon black mirrors and spoilers. I chose those along with the black wheels. Do you want body color roof or transparent roof that looks black on the outside or even exposed carbon fiber? All options.
I'm not sure how good of an idea it is to put carbon flash mirrors and spoiler on a solid black Corvette.
He's getting a convertible. Probably not a great idea to go with a transparent or carbon fiber roof!
In all seriousness, I'd DEFINITELY go with magnetic selective ride control and dual-mode exhaust.
Thx everyone...and especially slief for taking the time to write that out! I do understand the awesomeness of Magnetic ride. My biggest deal with Z51 is the closer gear ratios. It is like having a completely different final drive ratio and adds a lot of fun to rowing the gears. In C5 talk it was MN6 vs M12....I owned both and there was a very significant noticeable difference. The bigger brakes and wheels don't hurt either. But I do realize I could put another gear In the car later but the cost would be near the cost of Z51 if I didn't do the work...which I wouldn't. This may be an ignorant question....but are Z51 and magnetic ride mutually exclusive? And the first response of this thread suggested Z51 at $8k??? I am under the impression it is about a $2k option. Clarification on that please. I have been trying to track down the price by googling and haven't directly nailed it down.
NPP is something I could do later at about the same cost and get the sound of my choice. Carbon fiber accents would be pretty damn cool as well. Thanks for the suggestions!!,

Z51 is a bargain at $2800. 3LT is the only 8K option, at $8005.
IMO, the combination of the two (much equipment is included) is the performance bargain of the 2014 C7 model line-up.
info on the Chevy website...
I started out looking for a 1LT Z-51. The only one I found at a Dealer was being sold at $15,000 over MSRP. After a chuckle, I asked the Salesperson if the Corvette Factory had burnt to the ground.
I started lurking on all the Corvette Forums and decided that I HAD to have Z-51, 2LT Trim , Magnetic Ride and Performance Exhaust.
I ended up buying one with all that plus Navigation and Competition Seats. Didn't need those Options, but the deal worked out. I am sitting here waiting for the Transporter to call me with a delivery date.
The longer it takes, the longer my Accessory add on list grows.
I have a feeling that I will be spending much more money on the Car than my Wife will ever know.

Reason: dyslexia, youthful indulgence
I am going with a base convertible, 2LT, manual trans and navigation (MSRP $62,000) not into NPP performance exhaust. I looked into Z51/magnetic ride options. GM talked me out of these options at Carlisle, base car performance exceeds 2113 Grand Sport. With a convertible never will see a track. Coming from a 2006 C6 that had F55 magnetic ride. Saving almost $7,000 not ordering: NPP, premium paint, Z51 and magnetic ride. That money will be used on future Corvette purchase.
many more of us out there than first thought. Same with us; two C'5s... and skipped the C6 altogether. Wife will keep her 2003 AE Vert though; and I sold my 2002 coupe late last year.
Will be ready to order a C7 as soon as '15 orders can be accepted. I'd of ordered a '14 if GM would of allowed the full employee discount this first C7 model year.
Thanks for all of the help guys!! I think I had a relatively good handle on it but y'all confirmed it. I just didn't want to be sitting with a $65k+ car and realizing I had forgot something. My first C5 had the button with the car skidding out on the console(traction control). I thought I was buying a car with the optional Active Handling. Turns out it was only the standard Traction Control. My mistake but I was pretty bummed. I just don't want a repeat of that feeling!!!
Z51 manual is just like driving a C5Z06, if you like to shift a lot this package is for you. I love it keeps you busy.
Requirements when I got mine;
Z51
Manual
MSRC
NPP exhaust
2 or 3LT
Chrome wheels (black wheels are starting to grow on me )
